Smallville - Final Season 10

Smallville has overstayed its welcome...time to move on...:)

Do you do anything useful or intelligent in threads besides spam irrelevant junk like this and post pictures of women?

Considering there's an 11th season of the show coming in comic book form, I'd say it hasnt quite "outstayed it's welcome", so let people discuss it

I think Laura Vandervoort might be the sexiest woman in existence. I look forward to seeing her in a mini skirt.

She totally is. If you think she is hot here you should see the Stone Cold Steve Austin movie called DAMAGE. She's in it as a brunette and let's just say it turned me lesbian.

I just realized...THEY JUST WROTE MARTHA KENT OUT OF THE SHOW. You fucking idiot Smallville writers, why do you get rid of the great characters and keep the shitty ones (Lana).

At this point in the series they wanted to focus on the young cast. Think of it like Beverly Hills 90210 when the parents left. It's about the "kids" now which is fine, Clark really doesn't need any more parenting at this point from her. But this is not the last you will see from her.

:buttrock:

Plus she is missing out on the greatest version of Lex Luthor.

Right until Michael Rosenbaum left.

Smallville has overstayed its welcome...time to move on...:)

:eyebrow:

Just finished season 6. This season was "meh", I didn't think it was as good as season 5, but it had some redeeming qualities. The premiere was great. They added some great characters and really expanded the DC mythology this season, I loved Oliver Queen, Jimmy Olsen and Martian Manhunter this season. And "Justice" is probably my favorite episode so far. The finale was disappointing, Bizarro came out of nowhere and I didn't give a **** about him. A very cool twist to hear Chloe is a "meteor freak" and she can bring people back to life with her tears (WTF?). I actually liked Lex a lot less this season, he has started to become a 2 dimensional villain, I don't feel the show does a good job of explaining why he does his crazy things

I am so fucking sick of Lana Lang. But I can't blame Kristin Kruek, she's done the best with the material given. I really blame these shitty writers who can't think of anything else for her to do. This whole Lana/Clark thing is just a joke at this point...I stopped caring if they get together or not. Chloe or Lois are much better for him. Overall season 6 was "meh"

Yeah... Bizarro was bizarre.

The series doesn't develop Lex as Clark's rival until the seventh season and even then, it was toward the end. Michael Rosenbaum finally was getting the Lex he wanted, but he decided that it was too late for all the work he put into the series.

I would have been fine if they made her a recurring character...and they gave her such a half-assed reason to leave too, and worst of all they put it in the finale like dumbasses, so it got completely overlooked by all the other craziness of the episode.

There also was a time in which I realized that Martha hasn't been around there for a long time.

Kristin Kreuk was involved with the production in the later seasons, so she gave herself something to do.

I always felt like the finales were disconnected from the rest of the series. They go in a different direction, they end there, and we're back to another season plot.

Yeah, one of the weaknesses this show has is that the finales are full of stories and because they cram so much into one episode things can get overlooked and the emotional impact is taken away (Martha Kent leaving is a perfect example)

I just finished Hero, it's great to see Pete back. I'm loving season 7 so far, i'm so glad the show has become serialized since season 5, the stand-alone episodes of seasons 1-4 were awful. And I need more Oliver Queen...this guy is awesome. And Lionel Luthor is actually a good guy, I never thought I would say that lol

Has anyone ever asked the casting directors or producers why they don't have any people of color on Smallville? Seriously, this has to be the whitest show I've ever seen. They had one black person and he got written off because they felt he wasn't helping the story...

Anyways, going to finish the last two episodes of season 7 tonight and hopefully start season 8

I thought the same thing. With the exception of Black Dude in season 1-2 and the Japanese Principal who got killed it seems Smallville is Whiteville.

Season 7 = Mind blown.

I loved this season. There was so much going on, and everything was executed successfully. Lionel Luthor becoming a good guy and then getting killed by Lex was epic. Kara and her journey to fit into human civilization. Jimmy is just awesome, everything he says is hilarious...and making deals with Lex Luthor?!?! Not smart. I haven't mentioned in this thread how incredible James Marsters is (ITS FRIGGIN SPIKE!!!). I'm pretty sick of Lana Lang now, I liked how she was gone towards the end of the season. I also know she leaves in season 8, so that should make the show even better

And Lex was easily the highlight of the season. He finally became evil. His development from season 1 is amazing to watch. And he finally finds out Clark's secret...OMG.

I hope season 8 can be this awesome

Oliver Queen does have some great moments, but I don't like how he's turned into an emo anti-hero for the last few seasons. He doesn't do much except mope.

I think it's because it's set in Kansas. It did however take place in the 2000s.

I remember when the episode in which Lex kills Lionel first aired. I missed that part! I only got to see Lex when he was standing near the broken window. When I saw a rerun, it definitely was as expected for a highlight of the season.

I remember watching the finale to Season 7 and thinking about how disconnected the next season would be because Rosenbaum was said to not return a month prior to that or something.

I can understand people feeling disconnected, but i'm not worried because Lex is finally evil and knows who Clark is. So he should (logically) want to kill Clark, and that would mean turning him into a Power Rangers or Super Sentai villain, where he is making a new plan each week and fails miserably. It's better they write him off the show and bring him back later, so they can keep the characters evilness.
