Samurai Sentai Shinkenger - Talk Up!

Wanting to be a house wife is just a part of Mako's character and it is unique to her. That doesn't automatically mean that either of the Shinken guys are ready to be a husband or going to be her husband in the end of the series. Chiaki and Takeru both balked at the idea of marriage when Kotoha said that was Mako's dream. Until proving otherwise, Mako is firm in her position as big sister of the entire group because 39 proved Takeru is just as immature as the others on the team.

As a character, I don't want to see Takeru thrown into a marriage because Mako wants to be a housewife. At the series end, I want him to be hanging out with the guys and being a normal guy . . . for once in his entire existence. There is no need for him to jump from one huge commitment to another one that can wait for years because he is young and if he lives through to the end, he has all the time in the world.

That being said, Episodes 40 and 41 proves that the two leaders have music fetishes. One awakened like a Disney princess because of a flute and the other was ready to murder in order to get his haunting music back.

Mako is too good for Takeru but I'll eat my hat if they don't end up together by the end of the series. Otherwise, why bother with all that housewife crap?

Why is she too good for Takeru:-? She sure is lovely though:x

Much as I like them to be a couple, I really do not see much chance available. Especially when Takeru's problem gets solved in a Kotoha episode, not something related to Mako:disappoin

However, I'd really love to see Mako and Takeru end up together

Are we talking about Takeru from Maskman or Takeru from Shinkenger. Cause it's kinda hard to tell who is whom. They're both Red Rangers, and they're both badass.

Yeah, if the show is setting up anybody with anybody, it's Takeru and Kotoha. Takeru has expressed personal concern for her and only her out of the vassal Rangers (Genta aside). They've shared an episode with pretty explicit romantic tension and since then they've always gone out of their way to show Kotoha worried about Takeru's feelings in Takeru-centric episodes.

While Mako interacts with Takeru she's usually correcting some stupid or selfish behavior on his part. Their big scene in episode 39 (I think) she was really just speaking as a proxy for the vassal Rangers. Their only prior extended interaction, way earlier in the series, involved her dueling Takeru to help him realize the solution to a problem.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see the show end with no couplings at all. In the Super Sentai (I've seen) where romance happened at all, it happened unambiguously and fairly early in the storyline.

You can see a tiny black "T" shape there. That's where you slide in the Shinkenmaru, so I would say it's empty. Compare it to the image below.

Anyway, my intent was to show that Pink still had hers, contrary to a certain shipper. It might not be as easy to spot as Yellow's in that low-res image, but there's clearly a diagonal black bar there.

So Pink has her sword put away, or Blue's got a really awkward erection going on.

the size of toy version that Shinkenmaru went short than actual size of from the series version. o.o;

Because he's annoying, selfish and arrogant. I'd go so far as to say he's one of the worst Reds yet. You can do the "noble leader Red" character type without having him be dull as ditchwater (Boukenger) or just plain awful (Takeru.)

Episode 39 was the most Takeru/Mako episode of the lot. Takeru being all starry-eyed and going "Mako ..." like some lovestruck moron as she's fighting Dayu, and Mako being all "wise" as she wades in there to fight (because the writers have gone out of their way to emphasise that she "understands" him so well :rolleyes2: Why do that unless Mako were going to be his love interest?) Even at the end of episode 41 they made sure to have a quick scene of her hanging back from the others, to show that she's still concerned about him. Kotoha also shows concern for Takeru but I think it's part of her character - she's insecure and thinks she doesn't deserve to be Yellow, and is trying to make up for it through her devotion to Takeru. Now she's finally comfortable as ShinkenYellow, they probably won't interact much again.

The other thing about Takeru/Mako is that a lot of their interaction involves the other Rangers bickering, laughing at something, or playing together while Mako says something oh-so-clever and Takeru looks on. It makes Chiaki, Genta, Ryuunosuke and Kotoha look like clowns at best and idiots at worst. Or in episode 39-40 where Mako won't tell Kotoha what is wrong with Takeru, it seemed like an obvious attempt to show how superior Takeru and Mako are to the other four.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see the show end with no couplings at all. In the Super Sentai (I've seen) where romance happened at all, it happened unambiguously and fairly early in the storyline.

The Magiranger wedding happened at the end of the series. DekaPink and DekaGreen hooked up in the following year's team-up, so maybe there's still a chance for shippiness in Shinkenger? I still say I can't see why Mako would have the "housewife" thing going on unless she were going to be married off at the end.
