im in HK now, figuarts prices skyrocketed compare to last summer

Yeah, I noticed that during my May'11 trip there. The prices have increased even compared to Dec'10. >_<

im in HK now, figuarts prices skyrocketed compare to last summer

ridiculous don't you think? it increased pretty much everywhere. by an average of 500 yen (5-6 us); retail price wise. what an expensive hobby we all have :disappoin unless you have access to large retailers in japan which sells them 3 bucks less (that requires you to be in japan and you gotta line up early in the morning for 2-3 hours against all the kr otakus).

I think so...but the reason why the prices have gone up is solely because these things are friggin popular. Who would have thought. Bandai nailed it. even folks in North America who know nothing about riders are into them! just crazy, the success of this toy line seems to have just begun.

there are a lot of reasons for the price mark up like the economy, earthquake, etc. but whatever it may be, popularity like u said definitely is one reason. but it's getting a bit ridiculous though.

well, exclusives are about the same. I checked my order history for bikes or riders from a few years ago up till now and it ranges from 3100 yen to 3600 yen; no specific pattern (excluding accessories or dual packs). so there isn't any patterns of price increase at all. well, perhaps just a tiny bit like 200 yen average perhaps.

the big changer comes from the regular releases. I use Yo pay like 1800 yen for a rider shf and now 2800 to 3000 retail at a large retailer.

it's only ridiculous because bandai can only produce so much. It would not surprise me when the day comes when we would have to resort to reissues to get the figures.
