RIP Nostalgia Critic

I have yet to see it, but I'll be sure to tomorrow- when I'll have a lot of **** to do...

Also enjoying his Dreamworks-uary videos as well, if anyone saw those.

Sometimes I scratch my head in regards to Channel Awesome, Screwattack, Reviewtopia, etc...reviews and lists are nice and all, but man, there are other things out there that people can do.

Just goof around with other concepts. The way Doug approached NC, he should've just had the character pop up now and then before bringing him back. I appreciate Demo Reel cause it introduced new "likable" characters...and where Rob wasn't a dinosaur. Doug shouldn't of retired the character, just let him pop-up now and then.

I wish Demo Reel continued as a side series (monthly/semi-annually), but just didn't do the "parody" aspect of it. I think that's what annoyed people.

However, I do like that Doug and Rob are doing the Siskel/Ebert bit...the Twlight Review as hilarious.

I wonder now if the "Demo Reel" cast will be repositioned into different things on CA cause I'm curious now what else they're capable of doing.:sly:

I really enjoy the Son of the Mask review. I feel like the new reviews do feel more fresh out then they did last year. I think his best reviews were from 2008 - 2010, but I did think he had some great videos in 2011 and 2012 though.

I'm not a fan of having no cut off date. Some times I'm fine with him reviewing recent movies like Son of The Mask, TMNT and Alone in the Dark because they are based on something nostalgic. I didn't like him reviewing Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 since I had turned 13 at the time when the movie was released and was losing interest in these types of movies. It was odd seeing him review The Odd Life of Timothy Green since it came out last year. It's like having The Cinema Snob review Rugrats in Paris: The Movie or the AVGN review Rogue Warrior.

Agreed, the sketches included within the review were pretty solid too

He already kind of covered why that happened in the prelude movie for the newest iteration. It's kind of understandable really, he just lost his spark of creativity. Happens to the best of us

....and of course...Linkara as the Green Ranger

The world would be an overall better place if Linkara stopped making his "History Of The Power Ranger" videos. I have honestly never seen a more biased and less educational series of reviews

If Vitor is serious, then I think he's watching HoPR for all the wrong reasons. I'd love to see someone who makes mention of how the Sentai source material affects adaptions we get, but that's not the kind of video he wants to make. He doesn't care for the source material, he just wants Power Rangers to stand on its own merits.

Furthermore, Linkara's cameo was awesome, probably the best cameo-reveal we've seen! When he first appeared dressed as the Green Ranger, I really didn't know what to expect. For a second, I honestly wondered if Doug had somehow gotten Jason David Frank on the show (strange things like that have happened). I'm surprised at myself for not thinking it was Linkara sooner. Considering his build (he isn't exactly the skinniest of guys), I thought for sure I would have recognized him, but they must have known how much of Linkara to cut off to keep us guessing. It was VERY well played!
