Ressha Sentai ToQger Ep 28 "Uncool but Cool"

I don't know what to think of this episode.

While it was great that they are building on Tokatti's crush on Mio, the episode just feels off... I guess it's a transition episode for the big stuff next week.

Tokatti and Hikari's interactions were great but could have benefited from a few more minutes. Everyone vs Right kind of came out of nowhere, it was pretty funny though. And Akira was freakin hilarious this episode.

And I guess the revelation of the source of Zed's weakness is a big deal. They'll probably try to exploit it (and by "They", I mean Noire and Schwarz).

The Hyper finisher was awesome, kind of OP that he can take down Kuliner robo's though.

But next episode is gonna be great. Dinner with Schwarz!

After seeing Right and Zed brief fight last week and Baron vs Gaim this week, I hope that the series will build up to an epic Right vs Zed fight. Not sure what to think about Schwarz's apparent alliance with Toqger, can't really see him fully turn good. Guess we'll have to wait to find out

While it was great that they are building on Tokatti's crush on Mio

Why? There's no point to it. There is no benefit to the characters, the story or anything else because of it.

I did watch this one because I'd been assured that the show had stopped focusing so much on Gritta and Schwarz - but after that preview, I won't be back again next week. I agree this episode did feel a bit "filler" but it's a shame, apart from the needless romance, it did remind me why I enjoy the show when it's not being dominated by the villains

Why do you hate love?

DAT WAGON! <3

And at the end there you see her with pudding on her face :eyebrow:

Why not? Dare I say why not?

At least It'll be something more to talk about in these threads.

Anyway this was a fine episode! Akira's ragdoll walk was FRIGGIN' HILARIOUS! Hahahahahaha!

Next week's uneasy alliance is probably going to end badly for the ToQger, but I bet that lunch secquence will be hilarious.

Wow, that's three episodes now with genuine hints to TokattixMio, or at least on Tokatti's part. Heck, this episode even had him getting jealous, which is something I never expected to see. It would be nice to see that relationship get some more genuine development in future episodes, but this being Toku, and by Kobayashi, I'm not going to get my hopes up. But still, three episodes :shakefist!

Cool to see Madame Noir being more active, and while she may have dodged Kagura and Mio's accusations about Grita during the fight, she seems genuinely concerned about her daughter after realizing Zed hasn't completely consumed her yet :redface2:.

I have to imagine the team have been holding in all those Right complaints the entire series .

Morc has certainly taken charge of things at the Shadow Line, which I guess considering Zed's usual attitude is actually an improvement, and I think her scenes with Zed are fun. He seems to tolerate her, or at least bounces off better with her, more than he does the rest of the Shadow Line. She also made a valid point about how his obsession with the light might become a hindrance someday, but that he might also find a way to use it to his advantage :169:.

Akira's guilt-tripping himself and then making a mad dash to his "place to die," only to fall from exhaustion once he'd made it was pretty hilarious. Noir didn't even notice he was there .

Certain scenes with Wagon in this episode remind me why I'm glad she's actually got a female suit-actor .

Still not crazy about the new cannon, but it was great to finally have the whole team involved and I think the shot looked cooler than in the last episode with the addition of extra trains .

All in all, a decent Tokatti and Hikari focused episode, and looking forward to seeing how Schwarz' team-up with the ToQger's ends up .

ToQ 28
- I just noticed in the OP a shot of Akira fighting Kuros and then pausing to look at the rainbow. It’s a nice picture.

- I like how Noire stands patiently, lady-like with her parasol while Akira plays his harmonica approaching her.

- That feather can penetrate a helmet?

- “Insect to a flame.†So that’s why Zett was ambling zombie-like right toward Right‘s cannon.

- I’m starting to like Mork the most out of these villains, other than Zett.

- Aren’t these people still kids? What’s with these supposed love triangles the show wants to put out? Or is it a result of their “adult passions†from being locked into older bodies, mixed with their child-like puppy love?

- … You don’t have to just watch, Right. You can jump aboard too.
