NBA 2013-2014 Season Discussion Thread

Wasn't McDyess basically in the same predicament?

Yes but Oden's situation appears to be worse. It's scary that he's saying, he can't run or jump like he used to at age 18.

Technically speaking, he hasn't hit his prime yet and he's already talking like his knees are of a 20 year vet.

Forget Scottie Pippen, Rockets signed Ronnie Brewer while Antawn Jamison is now a Clippers member. After 16 years, Tracy McGrady announces his retirement from NBA though he's open to play overseas.

Allen Iverson announced his retirement recently too. Poor guy. He was such a great scorer but a bit too selfish at the same time. He needed to realize that he wasn't a superstar player anymore and needed to play second fiddle in order to win a Championship.

Jason Kidd, Grant Hill, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Rasheed Wallace all retired in the same season. It actually feels like a real life version of NBA2k Association Mode.

Wait, didn't he already retire 2 years ago?

Trading time for Bucks and Suns: Caron Butter for Ish Smith and Viacheslav Kravstov. Looks like Lamar Odom and coach Budenholzer got arrested for DUI lately.

I believe he never filed retirement papers. He stayed around hoping to land another job. Donovan McNabb did that last year too. When you file the paperwork, that is when you are officially retired. That's how it works in the NFL so I think it should be the same for the NBA too.

I didn't even think about that and you are right. Wow.

JR Smith, ladies and gentlemen...

Paul Pierce sparked a war of words between the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks, and J.R. Smith was the latest to respond to the former Boston Celtics star's comments that the Nets will soon own New York.

"I just look at him as a bitter person just getting out of Boston. He doesn't really know what New York is all about. He's been playing in Boston his whole career," Smith said.

"He just knows, just know that his words have consequences and he's going to have to pay for them."

Smith is hoping to be healthy for the start of training camp.

JR Smith's playoff stats: 33 FG%, 27% 3pt shooting on an astoundingly terrible 43% TS percentage.

Dem Consequences tho!

JR is STILL not even a consistent producer, why is he talking? lol In all honesty, the Nets just seems like the smarter NY team.

Fab Melo and Quentin Richardson were waived by Grizzlies and Raptors. As suspected, Beasley's contract with the Suns has been terminated.
