I saw that for the first time a week ago and I
did enjoy it, but not for the same reasons I enjoy the current show. That up there reminds me of my younger days parked in front of Care Bears.

It's like coming into a Kuuga thread and declaring that it's Not All That Good because it's a merch-driven show. It's a valid thing to discuss, and there are ways that you can have that conversation. I just don't know why you'd choose the particular way you did.
Wait, Kuuga's a merch-driven kids' show?
But everyone told me it was high art!
Anyway--yeah, Saint, I think you just threw folks for a loop before you provided the specifics. It's totally cool, though, I don't think anyone in this thread is here for having wanky arguments about ponies.

In fact, if that happens, I am going to go
nuts. I just want to have fun here. Like almost every other show we talk about here, it's made for the teeny tinies, and keeping that in mind is probably the healthiest thing to do.

The problem I have is that stories at time feel like they are just set-up for Twilight Sparkle's summation and the lesson she learned.
The reason you feel that way is because they
are. Like,
all of them are. FiM seems to have finally found a niche in
twisting the moral-driven episode formula, though, and it's something I highly respect as it simultaneously makes me yell at the screen. It's actually really fun to think about what it's teaching youngsters now in comparison to what was being taught in such shows when we were kids.
