I have mixed feelings about this game. I originally played it on the PS Vita and gave up because it was too grindy. Now that it's on the Switch and the micro transactions are gone, I decided to give it another shot. It's still so grindy, but there are customization options that allow you to change things like experience gained per battle, gold earned, pearls earned, etc. that make the grind more tolerable. I don't know that I would call it fun, but it doesn't feel like as much of an uphill battle.

None of the characters have any depth. This isn't that type of game. This is a gameplay and exploration focused game. The map is extensive. There is a lot of gameplay packed into this game. The character types are varied enough. You gain a second member of your party quickly enough, though I have an issue with how long it takes to acquire your third and fourth characters. Again, too many quests and grind to get up to having a 3 person party. I do like that they made it so that you can't cheese your way through battles with the same party. There are situations where your go to party members just don't do damage. I like that the game forces you to switch it up.

I still can't say whether I like this game or not, but I cannot deny that twice now it's hooked me in right at the beginning of the game. So, kudos on that and on the things the game got really right. And thanks to the customization sliders, or as I like to call them, what makes the game fun for you sliders. That has made a really difference in keeping me playing this time around.
