We like to call that one guy a 'Moron'.
Or the more technical, correct term, "DumbFuck."
Here's the thing about the ending.
It's not underwhelming-it's just out right terrible.
Ignoring the lack of choice, let's look at the only ending Shep survives.
Destroy.
So, this option destroys all synthetic life in the galaxy-including yourself, as the STarChild clearly states that Shep has a lot of synthetic junk holding him together.
This should also mean that anyone like Shep, though not as extremely held together as he is, should be screwed over, even if they just have TIM style eyes.
Which means that the entire Quarian race should be dead along side the Geth and EDI.
And, you know, Shep himself should be dead.
Except he's not.
The only ending that should out and out kill Shep-is the one he survives.
...despite being on the citadel which explodes before we see he survived.
..........so Shep survived all of his synthetic implants getting fried/destroyed/space magicked into oblivion....and the destruction of the citadel....and presumably a fall through orbit to the Earth.
........how?
On top of that, all I really wanted from the ending? To be an ending.
This wasn't.
It was a cliff hanger.
And that'd be fine, if this was ME2, or hell, Halo 2.
If you knew this wasn't going to bring closure to the game.
Yet, the thing is-that's how this was advertised. They said, quote un quote, this was an ENDING. This was the finale for Shep.
....yet we don't see that. We're left with far more questions than we started with, in fact.
