Man this is the best comic news I got in months. Not only is the fuzzy elf getting a new
ongoing series, it's being written by Chris Claremont. Though I feel calling it Nightcrawler instead of X-Men: Legacy is probably going to hurt sales, getting more Claremont is great regardless. Also judging by some sketch work Kurt will be doing some swash-buckling. Claremont will be joined by artist Todd Nauck.
Also as it was bound to happen Amazing Spider-Man is coming back with an Ock-free Peter Parker back as the lead. And in a shocking move the first arc is going to feature Electro, wait what is coming out in May again.
And finally gets what is getting another revamp, that's right the Ultimate Universe. Following Galatcus's munching on the Ultimate Earth the line is getting another make-over and frankly probably for the best. A problem I had with Ultimate Universe is that it always felt like Marvel re-hash, not really enough of difference for it to really matter to me. But recently especially with appearance of Miles it seems the the Ultimate Universe is forging an existence outside of being an updated 616.
First we have Bendis and Marquez staying on Spider-Man with a new title Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man (a nice little nod there). In addition Miles will be part of All-New Ultimates along with Kitty, Bombshell, Black Widow (who seems to be Jessica Drew) and Cloak & Dagger. This seems like a great line-up and helps move the Ultimates away from just being an alternate reality grimdark Avengers. Michel Fiffe and Amilcar Pinna are the writer and artist, respectively.
And finally the biggest surprise has to be Ultimate FF, the FF here standing for Future Foundation. Here a team consisting of Sue Storm, Tony Stark, Sam Wilson, Phil Coulson, and Machine Man tries to save the universe from itself. In a interesting twist Machine Man is a former Gah Lak Tus Swarm drone who gained independence and took on a new form. This could be a really fun book since seems to be how do protect people from giant purple space men. Hopefully the book will embrace the cosmic weirdness that has been missing from comics as of late. Joshua Hale Fialkov writes with Tom Grummett and Mario Guevara on art duties.
