[Comic] Marvel Talk Up Thread

Guess what? More news out of NYCC!

Well the big one today is Marvel finally releasing the long out of print MiracleMan stories with the intent of building up to Gaiman's unpublished conclusion. One thing to note they are using the MiracleMan name and not the original MarvelMan like they always said they would. Maybe Disney doesn't want the Marvel name connected to these stories...

Moving on, George Romero's long rumored Marvel title has finally been named and we even have plot information. A departure for Romero the book is set in New York City and features vampire in addition to zombies.

Next Fantastic Four and FF are ending once again with the departure of Fraction with the 16th issues of both series. In related unnews James Robinson and Leonardo Kirk will be relaunching Fantastic Four one month later. (This last bit has to do with IGN announcing the story then taking it down rather quickly.)

In even more related news Mike Allfred already has a new book lined up, Silver Surfer, with Dan Slott taking on the writing duties. The book will also touch on Slott's "Reckoning War".

To tie with his joining the Thunderbolts, Ghost Rider is getting a new solo title with Felipe Smith and Tradd Moore as writer and artist respectively. No details were given.

And finally Rhodey gets another chance at bat, though this time in something with a splash more color. Now I love War Machine (in part due to MvC) because he is like Iron Man but actually likeable. So I really hope this book finally let's James Rhodes come into his own and not just be seen as b-list Iron Man.

From my understanding the Ghost Rider in Thunderbolts is going to be Johnny Blaze but the one in the ongoing series is going to be a whole new character. Which would make him the fifth Ghost Rider in modern comic... if you want to count the time Vengeance took over the title when the Danny Ketch version died for a bit.

Yeah I will be the first to admit I am not much of Ghost Rider fan, I only recently learned there was a female Ghost Rider in the last few years. Also that teaser image they have reminds me of train.

Also add that there will be a Deadpool Digital Infinity comic, and in summer of 2014 Marvel Universe Live (think all those live Super Sentai/Kamen Rider shows they do in Japan) is making a tour in the USA.

They didn't showed much for the Live thing other than it seems already choosen people doing flips and physical training as well as some effects (like a Thor hammer lighting up or retractable Wolverine-claws) and that the story of this event will deal with the Cosmic Cube.

So it seems with Iron Patriot that whatever happens in Secret Avengers will indeed justify a new #1 (again).

And yeah, based on that cover alone I believe this is another Ghost Rider rather than Johnny over at Thunderbolts.

Alright some more follow up on All-New Ghost Rider. His name is Robbie Reyes and is a high school senior. Plus instead of a bike he is going to have car.

In other news we have relaunched Captain Marvel (still Carol) with Kelly Sue DeConnick returning as the writer.

Next we have a new Elektra by Zeb Wells and Mike Del Mundo.

Also a relaunched Punisher by Nathan Edmondson and Mitch Gerads, where heads out West. Here's hoping to him meeting the Runaways and Molly handing him his ass again.

And the last reveal of the convention is a good one. All the hints in Nova have proven true the New Warriors are back. Justice and Speedball are there of course joined by the new Nova. We also have the second Scarlet Spider joining bring along Maria Aracely. Plus seems someone must be reading we have a new Sun Girl. There is also what seems to be an Atlantean female and what I am guessing is a new Inhuman since it seems like every book is going to have now.

Oh yeah something about the Green Goblin in Superior Spider-Man, but I still don't care about that book.

You're so good at relaying news!

People who do care about Superior Spider-Man know that Green Goblins been planing something and that's all coming up in an arc called Goblin Nation and will reveal a new Goblin(Green, Hob, or new) BUT not before Spiderman fights a now Flash free Venom. Also the upcoming issues #20 and #21 are suppose to be the most dramatic **** ever but they wouldn't spoil why.

The one I do find interesting is in the teaser for Goblin Nation you can't see the legs of the new spider emblem, from what I have seen the legs go over the shoulders. But here they are like the old suit's, it could just be artistic license though.

Also I just share what I find interesting. Which is why you will never see me talk Archie. Though the news about Betty and Veronica is unexpected.

Well after today's issue, some people will have hope again...lol

Also great to see Hawkguy back! and Guardians was great!

I've got a good few suspicions as to what it could be, and it would be interesting if they were proven accurate, what is "MJ's greatest fear?"...could be she becomes the next Venom host (she has a phobia of the symbiote), or, now that Carlie has something a little more concrete on Ock's activities, she's finally filled in on the mind-switch?

#19 set up a lot of things for the future (Horizon Labs kaput, Miguel trapped in the past etc), so I don't think Superior is going to end when the new Spidey movie comes out, I read some posts on CBR from Editorial that implied it'll be continuing through to late 2014 at the very least.

Ock's old girl friend from the 90s, Stunner, is also coming back in December

I only picked up Superior Spider-Man 20 from Marvel today and it was a solid issue. It felt like it was on the filler side but it seems like it was needed to move the plot forward. I still believe that Superior Spider-Man Team Up is the superior book of the two out right for me at least. I only picked this issue up on a whim since I saw Black Cat was going to be in it but man it was a very short but funny role I would say.
