[Comic] Other Comics Talk Up Thread!

Also Dynamite announced a whole bunch of other projects they are doing....the one that strike me the most was that they are doing a Season 5 of Heroes!

Part 3 of TMNT's City Fall arc was outstanding. Just seeing how evil the Shredder can be is fantastic. Overall pick up this series if you aren't already. I can't recommend it enough.

I turned in my Previews order for comics shipping in October to my LCS this morning. Among the books that I ordered were a couple of small press titles that caught my eye.

From Amigo Comics,
Gargantuan #1 by El Torres & Ruben Rojas.
They were the giants that once walked and ruled the Earth. Now they only exist in dreams and nightmares like the Marshall Sarah Lozen has. And she doesn't know that her pursuit of the criminal rockstar Cirus will end with the rise of the Gargantuan -- and the end of the life on Earth as we know it!
32pgs. FC (1 of 5) $3.99

From New Paradigm Studios
The Rockthrower #1 by Karl Bollers, Paul Mendoza & Gene DeCicco
Dave Willis is a down and out baseball scout who was once a Major League pitcher loved by fans the world over. Now, an ignored has-been on his last leg, Dave jets to Israel after seeing news footage of a Palestinian teen throwing rocks with a speed and accuracy that defies even the best pitchers on most Major League Baseball teams. Does it really matter he's throwing them at Israeli soldiers? This new potential pitching discovery could redeem Dave in the eyes of his peers. But when the former athlete finds himself in the middle of a decades old conflict, will he fail in his mission before having a chance to even succeed?
32pgs. FC $2.99

Great week for Image!

East of West #5 - We keep getting more and more twists about this World and now we know that Death's son is somewhere out there and is being shaped to be the The Beast! Also I loved the love story between him and Xiaolian...

Saga #13 - Another great read....now we have another party getting involved in looking for Marco and Alana and there is a possible thing going between The Will and Gwen (also Slave Girl finally gets a name!). It was interesting to see how Marco is so affected by his father's death.

Anyone reading Lazarus by Greg Rucka? I'm loving the series so much, such a cool story with so much potential

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issue 27 came out, it was a nice penultimate issue for what has been the best storyline from any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles incarnation I've seen. City Fall depending on how it wraps will be a storyline fans will be talking about for quite some time.

Also the TMNT Micro-series issue for Bebop and Rocksteady came out(read this issue before reading 27). It was fantastic, Dustin Weaver and Ben Bates knocked this one out of the ballpark. As my first introduction to Bebop and Rocksteady, they nailed it. Especially after I researched the characters and it felt like them but a bit more violent and more twisted(I would say dark but I hate using that word to describe something). The humor with them is still there under that though I can say as I found myself laughing a few times. Overall probably my pick of the week if I had to choose one.

Being reading the two Transformers books from IDW.

While Robots in Disguise is kind of, sort of, not there yet (though I'm still early on the book), I've read all current issues of More than Meets the Eye and... Damn, it has become one of the favorite comic books.

I been enjoying Sex Criminals from Image! Also I like Pretty Deadly #1, although I had to read it twice....but the art is gorgeous.
