Marvel & DC Thread

****, maybe the 70's one I'm talking about is actually the 80's one?. I checked wiki and it seems I got all of 'em. Is Spidey and his retarded friends from the 70's?.

Either way, almost done season 1 of S:TAS. JJJ that bastard created Scorpion with the recombinator?, I never knew that at all as a kid. I am seriously loving this series so much right now.

Peter be pimpin' Felicia Hardy & MJ!!!! :O_O:

Amazing Friends was from the 80s too

This is the show I'm refering to, it was best remembered for Doctor Doom being Spidey's nemesis throughout it (Sat Wars was big at the time and Marvel capatalised with their most "Vader-ish" villain)

You also missed out the 1980s X-Men pilot episode "Pryde of the X-Men", the inspiration for the legendary X-Men arcade game

On the DC side you're also missing:
Legion of Superheroes

On the Marvel side of things:
Have you checked out Captain America's old movies, or the Dr. Strange pilot/movie?

I saw a bit of the old Capt America movie when I was a youngster. Nothing since then but I'll definatley download and check it out.

@Sky, I heard about Pryde. No good torrent for it though. :(

Another question,

In terms of continuity, am I missing anything here?

Marvel: Spider-Man:TAS, Spider-Man Unlimited, X-Men:TAS, Silver Surfer:TAS, Incredible Hulk: TAS, Fantastic 4: TAS. <-- All of these shows are in the same timeline, follow the comics (for the most part), inspired the movies, and are all in the same continuity for eachother.

DC: Batman:TAS/New Adventures, Batman Beyond, Superman:TAS, Justice League/JLU. <--- Same as above?.

Am I missing any other shows in these continuity/timelines?, am I wrong about a few of them being in the same continuity?.

Also, Justice League Season 2 is coming out on Blu-ray in July.

You should watch Batman Beyond and 'JLU: Epilogue' last.
You're missing a show called 'The Zeta Project' -it's a spinoff of Batman Beyond.

Also only the Sony movies are based on the cartoons, MARVELs own movies are based both on the 616/Ultimate Universe taking the things they like best to make a new one

Now into Spidey season 2 (Neogenic Nightmare). Soooooo I got a few questions answered from the movies where Peter looses his powers and I was wondering wtf was going on, so it seems had Spider-Man 4-6 happend, then we would have seen Pete loose his powers again, get them back, and then mutate into Man-Spider. That would have fucking rocked big time. BUT I will say, I am glad the Raimi era ended the way it did, with a dark tone - No marriage b/w MJ & PP and the death of Harry.

I am looking forward to this season, I remember Blade, Daredevil, and The Punisher showing up!!!.

Alright so the order to watch everything would be:

Marvel:
1. Spider-Man TAS
2. X-Men TAS
3. Iron Man TAS
4. Incredible Hulk TAS
5. Fantastic 4 TAS
6. Silver Surfer TAS
(I know each of the above do crossovers but I'll watch them in the respective series)
7. Spider-Man Unlimited
Any other movies that fit into this continuity and when should I watch them exacally?.

and

DC:
1. Superman TAS
2. Batman TAS
3. Mask of the Phantasm movie
4. Justice League/JLU
5. Batman Beyond
6. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker movie
7. Justice League Epiloque episodes.

One that came out recently is All-Star Superman. Definitely worth a watch.

Looks like you've got a heck of a list going! I'd be interested to see a finalized version once we can all remember the stuff we've forgotten and get you a complete list. Probably make a heck of a drinking game. (Last one my friends and I had was watching the old Legend of Zelda animated series. Take a drink every time you hear 'well excuuuuuse me, princess!'. Yeah, we were pretty bad by the end.)

Surprisingly, there's sort of a logic behind the marriage thing and why it ended the way it did. I can't explain it very well but I can show you someone who can. and since you're doing Spidey, I'll throw in his other Spidey-centric episode.

They're actually a fun watch for anyone, really. Bob's got a bunch all based around comics.

Yeah. Like I said the other shows like Brave & Bold, the 70's and 80's stuff can all come later on. I am more interested in the shows that inspired the movies and nod most to the comics/original stories.

I was doing some Iron Man research as well, trying to memorize the different suit designs from the 2 movies. The Mark IV version was always the best looking imo. I still think it's jokes that Uncle Phil/Shredder voiced War Machine.

But from everything I have seen thus far from both franchises I will definatley say I am 100% sided with Marvel over DC.

Also, I found a few Marvel animated movies that are out on Blu-ray:
Ultimate Avengers
Ultimate Avengers 2
Invincible Ironman
Doctor Strange
Next Avengers
Hulk vs
Planet Hulk

Has anyone seen these?, what did you think of 'em?.

I liked Dr. Strange. Was kind of in the vein of the current Batman films. Had a similar feel to me, and I thought that was a good thing. Strange needs all the serious he can get since writing for him can be a bit tricky.

Ultimate Avengers....I saw bits and pieces, but what I saw was okay. Avengers is usually worth a shot, if only to see what people do with the cast. Justice League: Unlimited was the same way. Not every episode hit it out of the park, but it was always worth a watch to see who teamed up with who and how they got along.

Planet Hulk was, I believe, made mostly to capitalize on World War Hulk. Which Planet Hulk was basically a prequel to World War Hulk. While WWH was a pretty awesome comic, I dunno if it's worth a watch. You get more than enough 'Hulk Smash!' in the vs. films. Furthermore reading the actual WWH trade, it told enough of the Planet Hulk story for me to understand what was going on.

As for the Marvel over DC thing, to each their own, but.....wait until you watch Brave and the Bold and see if you still feel that way.

D is telling me about Avengers: EMH. I was reading on a bit of it and am wondering if it falls into the 90's TAS continuity. I don't see why it wouldn't. I'll be downloading this 4sure.

But all DC stuffz aside. I don't want to overdose too quickly.

Of the Marvel films, I own them all and I gotta say the favs for me are both Hulk films, both Iron Man films, Spider-Man 3, Rise of Silver Surfer, and Punisher: War Zone.

The only thing I wasn't too fond of with Iron Man 2 was War Machine's actor. He just comes off as too puny to be War Machine.
