Kamen Rider Ghost - Episode 1

This episode was really cool and I loved the henshin, it has a cool motif about it. I'm hoping when they work the kinks out of the show, it will be a good show. (plz don't go the way of wizard plz!!!!!!!!) Either way my biggest grip is him getting multiple transformations this early regardless it is a kid's show, it is one gigantic commercial but it should telling a story, regardless it is too early to judge. But it is a decent start to another Rider show for 2016.

Can't wait for the subs! Seems like an interesting setup, and we have a return of the Rider who loses his humanity in our ghostly friend here.

That suit design is just fantastic though! If nothing else I'll need that base form in some toy form at some point!

Decided to cave and watch this one raw. Not much to say that wasn't already said in the news/rumors thread (namely pacing issues to allow two fights, and a cool design), but I like this one.

*It doesn't really feel like a carbon copy of any one show so far, which is usually a good sign (there are elements from a bunch of shows, but they're not just doing Gaim or Drive again).

*I REALLY like the gimmick that no one can see Ghost or the monsters (it's simple, effective, fairly creative, and doesn't require a huge budget like Drive's slow-down thing did).

*While this might change once I see a subbed version, so far, I like this cast much more than I liked Drive's cast (which I know isn't saying much, but at least they're not making goofy faces and being shoved down my throat).

*The Ganma are cool. I'm not usually big on monsters that talk (namely because they usually devolve into clowns at some point, like a lot of sentai villians), but these guys seem cool (though time will tell if they stay that way).

*The mood does seem a little odd (it seems like the actors are taking a comedic approach, yet we have a theme park getting destroyed), but I'm willing to wait and see where it goes (it has the potential to go really dark, like Gaim did).

To me, all of that sounds like a new writer getting used to a new format, and rider is ALWAYS at it's best when it's got fresh blood like that. So yeah, solid first impression (but after Drive nose-dived so far so fast, I'm still not totally hooked yet).

While I do see Akari's pov that she doesn't believe in ghosts, since there's no scientific explanation on what Ghost & the Ganma really are. However everyone know that people are being attacked by invisible assailants, unless that person has an Eyecon in their possession.

I'm interested to see the religion v science debate played out with Onari and Akari. Although they don't get along, they are now in the same position (their faith has been shaken by what's happened to Takeru) and if (as I suspect) Takeru is never resurrected, they'll be the only ones who knew him closely and they'll need each other's friendship. That dynamic could be interesting.

Kamen Rider Ghost's first episode was... meh. It wasn't terrible, but wasn't very good and felt extremely rushed.

In fact, I don't know why, but it felt like they were just copying OOO, just not doing it very well.

It feels like there were a lot of things going on in the episode.
Just like in Drive 48, it looks like you can only see the Ganma and Ghost if you're holding an eyecon.

Surprising to see both monsters going down this episode; I had thought they would keep one for episode 2. Musashi form was pretty cool.

Yurusen is cute(a yuru-chara of the Sennin lol)

I did like that, while the episode had a lot of lightheartedness (amusement park scene not withstanding), it had the balls to end up in such a somber note.

Also, I liked Yurusen.
