A few people in the thread had also voiced their disapproval for the break. Myself, I don't mind it. For a number of reasons; 1) The story(so far) has ended with a satisfactory conclusion. If the crossover was this last week, I would be pissed. 2) It's nice to have a break, once in a while, and goof around with the train guys. 3) I know the Yggdrasil arc had supposedly ended with ep19, but I consider this a much better end note to the second arc. I just take next week's episode as a crossover special in-between seasons.

Why is that Kachidoki Arms is just given to Kouta with the side-dish of exposition that underlines the themes of the show in the most blatant unsubtle way possible? Didn’t the mid-season upgrades used to have some level of story and character development behind it or just was overall earned through putting some effort, rather than having the narrative convenience transparently just give it for free?

I wouldn’t have too much of a problem if this didn’t already happen twice. First the Lemon Energy and now this.
