Kamen Rider Drive - News/Rumours Thread 1

Cars is a **** motif and making motorcycle riding heroes using cars instead is still the lamest thing you can do.

And before you say "But Rideron!!", first of all that wasn't RX's motif, and second, do you honestly remember RX for the car? Nobody really gives a **** about Rideron, except for bonus trivia.

That is my take.

I wasn't trying to insult you, I just thought it a little strange considering that we rarely get shows with a cast as large as Gaim's (and Toei's been sticking to the two-Rider formula for the last five years following on from the success of Den-O/Decade/W)

But back to on topic. I'm not really feeling the weapons, they are apparently based on Trideron's steering wheel and door, comes off a bit silly to me design wise but we don't have any context of them, so I'll hold out til more info. My headcanon tells me that he takes those parts of the car and can use them as weapons, which would be cool (similar to the 555 and Kaixa and taking parts off their bikes) and not just weapons that are pre designed that way.

I've been refreshing twitter, tumblr, etc. like crazy hoping for some news and luckily we at least got the rest of the catalogue!

The collectiable gimmick cars are just what I expected, they are like plain Hot Wheels. The names though are incredibly creative and awesome (The Funky Spike, Justice Hunter, Mad Doctor, Fire Braver and Midnight Shadow are some of my favorites). Judging by the full scans, he gets a steering wheel sword and a gun that the side door of his car, so maybe all this form changes and weapons comes from this car??). Also I think the purple guy might be another one of Drive's form changes. I don't get where you guys are seeing that he could be another Rider. (The evil cars?) The green one could be another one if you are going by that logic. Within the past few years the Main Rider gets at least 3 forms before the new year. So the Red could just be Drive's default Form and the purple one could be his third form.

He is on the Rival (ライバル) section of the catalog, so yeah... Not a form.

Well thanks for correcting me lol. Ok well thats cool, a Rival Kamen Rider already. Interesting. Maybe they going are going with multiple riders but just spacing them out like in Kabuto instead of blasting you with a new rider 6 episodes straight like in Gaim.

This is definitely one of those "wait and see" years with regard to the toys... While the design of the belt is important, it's usually the characters and story that sell me on the products.

I sold off my Wizard Driver when the show reached its second half as I was thoroughly bored of it. However, despite its simplicity, I'm still actively deriving tons of enjoyment from my Double and Sengoku Driver as I love the respective shows so much.

Red is Type Speed, black is Type Wild and green is Type Technic. The purple silhouette is Mashin Chaser, Kamen Rider Drive's "rival". Drive's third form (not in-series) is Type Fruit in the Movie War.
