Kamen Rider Decade rumor/picture thread

The whole Is-Tackle-A-Rider-Or-Not thing is pretty goofy anyway, because it's blindingly obvious that she is. For dramatic purposes of the story, Hirayama said he wanted Tackle to be buried "as Shigeru's friend above all" and Muraeda has his Spirts version, and those are fine... in the context of Stronger and the classic Riders. Being a Rider back then sucked, it makes sense that you'd want to remember a fallen one as the person behind the mask. And Tackle didn't need to be called "Kamen Rider" to be a hero, that's basically the point of the character.

The problem is that explanation doesn't really hold together outside of context, especially after years and years of Tackle just being lumped in with the Riders by books (and these are things sanctioned by Toei) in an age where everybody gets to be a Rider. Hell, she has even been called "Kamen Rider Tackle" in some older books from when the show was on.

I mean, let's be real: if Arc, an oversized douchebag who doesn't even touch a motorcycle can be a Rider, Tackle can be too, if just not in name. Like Another Agito. Nobody seems to have a problem with him being a Rider, even though his name is not "Kamen Rider Another Agito".

I dunno. To me, Tackle will always be a Rider, even if they never call her one. Simple as that.

Well Tackle was the one that started the trend of female Kamen Riders dying........... (i.e. Femme, L'Arc, Shuki, Akira/Amaki, the one chick that used the Delta belt first, maybe Siren in the near future :169: )

Magazine copy may not be sanctioned by Toei, so shouldn't be accepted over official credits or Toei sources.

That said, errata sometimes refers to Shadowmoon as an "evil Rider," but his official credits are careful never to call him Kamen Rider. Shadowmoon was from an era when Riders were defined primarily by being heroes of justice rather than by their look or powers. So the fact that Shadowmoon is so corrupt that he simply cannot be called "Kamen Rider" is intrinsic to the character.

It's the same reason why nobody but the bad guys call Kamen Rider Black by his proper name, "Black Sun". Kotaro rejected that identity completely when he called himself Kamen Rider Black.

(To make the analogy a bit more direct: you could in theory call Rider Ichigo the Grasshopper Otoko, but no one ever does. Once he choose to become a good guy, he became Kamen Rider!)

Shadowmoon was called "Evil Rider Shadowmoon" in one of the magazines that revealed pictures of Decade's movie.

Really? :disappoin I need to find that. Since that's just Isn't that just the magazine it probably isn't official? I don't believe Shadowmoon or the Riotroopers have ever officially been called Kamen Riders though in anything directly from Toei.

I honestly don't think that Toei/the writers really put as much thought into this "is rider/isn't rider" thing as we are
I think that they just wanted Daiki to have a buncha disposible soldiers that he can just use, and have killed fast, so it doesn't piss off fans of secondary riders (like if Daiki summoned Chalice and he was killed in 1 hit by Gatack, Gatack fans would go nuts, but Chalice fans would riot)

I mean, we could debate who is a rider and who isn't, but in the same sense, we could also ask why does the shinkenger monster diend have his own set of cards

I figure that Riottroopers are riders cause that they use belts to transform, but the Alternatives not being riders squashes that theory

Don't forget them Rio Troopers.......they were once in the "not Rider" category until Diend came along and fucked that all up.

Well...Alternative became a true Kamen Rider because of Dragon Knight...Decade ony referred Alternative as a "Pseudo"

...in other words...Alternative:

Len: "You're a Kamen Rider now."

Eubulon: "ALLEZ CUISINE!!!"

Huh. Another Agito never appeared in Decade did he? One of the few missing.

I ultimately don't care. Kamen Rider Diend and Phantom Thief Diend are the same random character, regardless of what you call them. I just can't find the energy to get all up in arms about it. Especially when it comes to Heisei.

Regarding Shadowmoon: In KR Black series, he is not a Kamen Rider, because only Black called himself as a "Kamen Rider" since both of them are "Century Kings" and Black wasn't brainwashed unlike Shadow Moon. Hence Black calling himself a "Kamen Rider" for the purpose of rebelling against Gorgom, and Shadow Moon a Century King by default.

Regarding Tackle: No official word whether she's really a Kamen Rider since it has always been a rule when Sensei Ishinomori was alive that he gets to declare who is and who isn't. Sadly, he died before completing the draft of Tackle's character, hence her being vague. But she is considered to be a Kamen Rider because she followed the guidelines of a female Kamen Rider character as per Sensei Ishinomori, a. Must have Henshin Sequence, b. Must have Rider Kick, and c. Must die. I'm not totally sure if Toei followed the rules eversince, but if you noticed, most female Riders before gets wasted.

Regarding Riot Troopers: The only real Kamen Rider in KR 555 series in general are Faiz, Kaixa, Delta, Psyga, and Orga, but in concept, the Riot Troopers are also Kamen Riders because it follows the requirements of being one in the series, which is to must be an Orphenoch or atleast have the Orphenoch DNA. The Riot Troopers are not considered a Kamen Rider by many because it is weak and tends to be fodder, but since it was mass-produced, it tends to be weaker, hence not having the signature KR stuff the likes of Faiz has. Just consider the Sherman tank, it's considerably weaker and had none of the technological advancements that the Tiger Tank has, but it's still a tank.

Regarding Another Agito: The term "Kamen Rider" almost never existed in the KR Agito series since the guys who had extra-ordinary powers and can henshin were called "Agito". Gills was a failed Agito and Another Agito is literally another Agito. I don't even recall G3 being called Kamen Rider G3, if he ever was, I guess because of the fact that it is some guy wearing a suit, hence being "masked".

So given these explanations, you would notice that the term "Kamen Rider" is simply a franchise name used by the recent toku shows, and only a few has dared used the term "Kamen Rider" within the series because let's face it, the writers come up with a story not because they need Kamen Riders to have a story, it's because the Kamen Rider franchise needs a story every year like in the case of most Heisei Rider series (heck, some of the Heisei Rider series was supposed to be for Metal Heroes or something entirely different, but the franchise managed to acquire them instead), but Decade was able to change all of that by becoming a medium of all different stories in the Heisei history to give them a common denominator, hence showing that they are just part of the franchise if you look outside the box. Double on the other-hand masterfully used the term "Kamen Rider", having the explanation of being a masked vigilante, hence having the power to use it (this was all explained during the episode with a girl being told that her dad is Double since her dad was supposedly scarred and had to wear a mask, he was also called "Kamen Rider" by witnesses and even on the radio) (IIRC, some series used this technique also to be able to use the term within the series)

So there is really no use debating the usage of the term "Kamen Rider", because let's face it, only Shotaro Ishinomori had the right to proclaim who is one, and Toei had to continue his legacy and are using different ideas which causes confusion to some.

Regarding Diend: Contrary to everything I just said, that bastard doesn't deserve the name "THE-END", let alone be called a Kamen Rider, he's a disgrace! All he does is Henshin, steal, summon, get creamed, and INVISIBLE! And occasionally a Final Attack Ride, but. The bottom-line is, he's a cowardly @sshole who is just so damn irritating because he appears out of nowhere for God knows how, runs his mouth, and cowers away! F*ckin useless character IMHO!

EDIT: Corrected some information regarding Shadow Moon.
