Much like Faiz, I enjoyed the latter parts of Blade. I did like how the movie tied into the end of the series. Mutsuki was a little annoying, but not too bad. Def in my top 5 Series.

I'm very proud that Blade was my first Kamen Rider,Also love how they showed the hero sacrificing his humanity for the world,Definietly on of my top favorites.

My problem with the Blade ending is more a problem with the type of ending they used than with the ending itself. The ending was dramatic and heartbreaking, I'm not denying it, but I feel that the "great sacrifice for all mankind" endings are overused in TV shows in general, if not Kamen Rider specifically. I mean you could argue that "Oh it's a testament to their development that they realize the safety of all outweighs their own happiness and any other way is just selfish" but to me the Greek tragedy thing just seems like a cop out to attract viewers rather than a successful resolution to a story we spent so much time watching.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that the type of ending used in Blade was so overdone (poorly in American TV) that it gives me a feeling of disdain.
Ending aside, the rest of the series was pretty good. I liked the playing card concept and the suit designs were interesting. Actually, I would have to say I liked everything about Blade except the ending.

Wasn't there already a ton of Blade threads before? Because I've pretty much defended Blade in most of them, so I'm lazy to explain it here...
Anyway, Blade can go either way for a person. It definitely showed somebody who's on the extreme heroic side who would sacrifice himself for his friends. Some people find this very emotionally touching, while some can't comprehend it. That's just the way it goes. It's just like those great indie movies which seldom get the appreciation they deserve, since only a few people can comprehend its depth.

I'm still new here so this is my first Blade thread.
While I wouldn't go so far as to compare Blade to an indie film (believe me I've seen some pretty weird indie films :redface2: ) I can see your point, Musashi. I may not agree with it (Still feel that the "heroic sacrifice" ending feels like a cheesy gimmick to draw in viewers/ratings), but I do see your point.
