I'm So F'ing Pissed Right Now

Judge Faiz

I am the law
I am SOOOOO fucking pissed right now!!

I was summoned to do fucking jury duty on Wens. I'm still in the process of jury selection and unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm going to wash out of this jury. Since I'm still in selection that means I have to again wake my ass up early to catch the bus to go downtown on Tues.

As some may know, my weekend happens to be on Tues & Wens. So this week I only had (in effect) one day off. Now because I actually LIKE having days off and will tend to do stuff on my days off, I asked work for a temp. schedule change (this Sat & Sun off, and "work a Mon - Fri"). Jury duty for SOME reason doesn't warrant a schedule change.

So now, except for Memorial Day, I will have NO days off. AND to top if off, this trial will more than likely also **** over my trip to Chicago as well.

Now I'm REALLY fucking pissed! I'm at the point now, where I don't care HOW innocent this guy is...he's going to fry.

All this bullshit about what a civic duty and privilege it is to serve on jury duty is just that. Complete utter bullshit. And if it's SUCH a honor to serve, why is it then that 99% of people try to get out of it???

Oh...and I guarantee that if someone high up at NOA had jury duty and it fell on their day off, you could bet your ASS they'd do a temp schedule change.

Damn, I don't know what to say. Did you at least try to talk him out of changing his mind or something? Has this guy always been a prick?

Sweety, if you said 'pissed' in the topic title, then you can sure as hell say 'fucking'. :P

Now, as far as you not getting a temp schedule change, that's just STUPID. They've let you switch your schedule for less. Take a sick day...you don't take many of those anyways.

Ugh. Jury duty sounds like hell. I don't even know if we have it in Canada, but I sure as hell hope we don't. Cause that would just be LAME.

*rubs your shoulders* I'm sorry, baby.

...what?

Anyways...ever since i've been eligible for Jury Duty, i've been subjected to glitches in their system...which spits my name out sometimes only *weeks* apart. It took forever to get someone in City Hall to acknowledge the problem. And no matter how many people I told...I always got fined (and got out of paying it seeing as I have a bizarre situation). Though, I do have to serve within the timeframe of the law (2 years for me).

Through it all...i've never actually been selected for Jury. :shakefist

Your situation doesn't look too bad. Though it'd royally suck if you missed your trip. Chances are you won't be selected or the trial will be very short if you've been summoned for petit jury.

:( Sorry bout your luck. I got picked for jury duty and had to drive my ass downtown for an entire week...which ment ZERO pay and 10 dollars parking EVERYDAY. I thought for sure they wouldn't pick me because A. I have pink hair and B. I know medical terminology and work in the medical field and it was a medical malpractice case. NOPE. wanna know why they picked me? cause they liked my hair >_<......ugh. thank god thats over for a year.

My mom always told me that if I ever get picked for jury duty to just start making outrageous claims, like you can tell if their guilty or not just by looking at them, or the farther apart their eyes are, the more guilty. Or just act like a closet racist.

There's no way they'd want someone like that on a jury.

I'm sorry.

I don't think this is something to be pissed about though. I've never met anyone who's tried to get out of jury duty. And without any intention of being a jerk...there's always going to be inconveniences in life. As men, though...we should feel somewhat of a civic duty, suck it up, go to jury duty, and try to make a good decision.
