I'm So F'ing Pissed Right Now

Hey! There's an idea! I wonder if it is possible to escape Jury Duty by fleeing to another country....

i do that every time i get one... and i'm not even out of the country! but then again.. i live in hawaii..and its practically impossible for me to get home from here (california) just to attend jury duty >_<

but i do get pardoned for every single jury duty summons i've gotten since i turned 18.. which was the entire time i was in college :3 (cuz i started college when i was still 17 ^^)

Wow, it even works when you're out of state too?? lol! Nice~
(It's funny, I've always thought Hawaii shouldn't be part of the US state, because it feels like you are in a different country! God, do I miss Maui.... T_T )

Regarding the jury duty thing, I see at least 2 possible ways to get out of it that won't land you in jail.

1) the modified Homer Simpson method - find some way to work "except for those damn *INSERT SELECTED GROUP HERE*, they should just be shipped off back where they came from" during the interview with the judge/lawyers.

2) the "I should be a judge" method - when the judge/lawyers asks you why you'd be a good lawyer, say "because I can tell if the prisoner is guilty just by looking at him". If they question you further on it, just nod like a know-it-all, give an evil smirk and just say "Oh trust me, I'll know." or "Put me on that jury and I'll guarantee a guilty verdict."

:P

Nah, but what's the worst that could happen? They think you're a terrible human being? Pffft.

And if it's SUCH a honor to serve, why is it then that 99% of people try to get out of it???

Because it's always inconvenient when you're summoned.

It's just Jury Duty. Its not the end of the world. We all have to do it at least once. If you really dont want to do it then start lying to the people and say "Yeah! Im the perfect candidate to be a juror! You guys are lucky. Cause I can tell when someone is guilty just like THAT. Without needing to hear the evidence. *glimmer in the eye*"

and guess what, they wont be calling you back.

It would be any time I was pulled over for some chicken **** traffic ticket it would come back to bite me in the ass. Oh and jobs usually LOVE when their employees get felony warrants issued for them.

95% of the time they don't issue warrants. They'll just mail you a fine at most.

That really fucking sucks...especially your trip to Chicago! Seriously, let me know how that plays, cause I will come hunt you down while you're in my home town!! Do you know what the case is about? Because sometimes, you can say the right thing to get yourself excused.
