Just saw episode 7 and this show continues to delight.
Martial arts are fast and furious, special effect are charmingly vintage and Kaku... my God, that guy just ooze all that is cool in Kung Fu. Is he Chinese himself or does he just dress it?
Ryou's dad.... is 6 thousand years old? How'd that happen?
A sincere thank you to the boys and girls at TVN for releasing it and I really hope for more releases to come.
While I love my DekaRanger, as a whole, DaiRanger is so far the best Sentai series I've seen to date. ZyuRanger is still a strong contender, but the filler episodes that I've been able to find from it have been a bit too silly for my liking and not meet up to the bangin' episodes I saw that featured the arrival of Burai.
Keep the Dai comin' so we can see the final fate of Chouryou! :dance:

Dairanger just keeps getting better and better.
Honestley man I've seen some of the best choreography for fight scenes in this series.
Keep watching the series. Sometimes it gets to the point where if you were to go back and watch MMPR season 2 you'd have repeated seizures from laughing so damn hard.

Ryou's father was the Original leader of the Dairangers 6,000 years ago, but he betrayed them when he entered into the service of the Gorma Lord, High Priest Saw. I'm guessing Saw made him immortal.

That is an awesome story. I wish my dad was a immortal hero from 6000 years ago.
So, when and why did he take a break from being an immortal to start a family? Or.... is that one of those, "Don't worry about it... just sit back and enjoy the ride. Details need not matter."
I hated MMPR2. With the coming of Rocky and Aisha, I became so utterly disgusted, that I have NO idea how I managed to stay a fan.
And I don't hate it for "what it did to DaiRanger." I hate it for what it was. A dramatic step down from the fun of the first series. My anger and hatred continued on 'til somewhere in Turbo when the action got awesome again, and that blossomed into live when Space arrived.
I can't wait for the next episode! Thanks to Sentai Guy, I've already seen it, but now I'll actually know what's being said!

The whole deal on when he met Ryou's mother still isn't clear, but I do know they were happily married for 5 years until the Gorma called him back. He asked Kaku to take care of them in his abscense, but he had no idea that Ryou would end up being chosen by Ryuuseioh to become the RyuuRanger. And Kaku kept the whole father/son secret until he had to reveal it to save them both.

Well, you do have the option to go over to TV-Nihon and downloading the episodes there or asking Sentai Guy for a hook-up to some of his DaiRanger DVD's.
