FF7 Remake finally happening?

Eh, says me too really. Not an awful game, but I'm really confused by the level of devotion and love most other fans have towards it.

OT: I doubt they're ever going to remake VII (though I can see why they would, and the reason is *ka-ching*). If they ever do, I think it'd be a bad sign that they've finally run out of ideas for this series, or just don't care any more. Not that they cared that much anyway, looking at the CGI movie that was XIII :laugh:

I love it because it was my first ever RPG and I had spent quite a bit of time with it, splitting with school and off time. I finished it in about 1.5 months... :laugh:

Gives us any sort of yardstick, they might consider it to help get their profits back up. No doubt it'd generate alot of cash, and it's not like they're obligated to give a refund if everyone buys it out of nostalgia or hype and then suddenly realizes that it's awful/not what they remember and then trades it in at gamestop.

...that's Gamestop's problem. Not theirs. They've still got the money. and that's all that matters.

What good games....Dragon Quest? It was because of that merge that the original people who worked on Final Fantasy,Parasite Eve, and front mission left.

I dunno I kinda feel that the games have been going downhill after the merger with Enix. They certinally aren't as good as they use to be.

There is no "Enix" or "Square" half, its all one company now. Enix was always the better company but thats irrelevant now since they really aren't separate entities anymore. Also Sony has no say on FF7.

As far as a remake Square-Enix has said it would take forever and be too expensive to do it on current consoles. However now that portables are powerful enough you can bet that Square Enix is going to remake FF7-9 for portables whether 3DS/NGP/iOS or all three. It'd be cheaper and they can rank in the benefits, I mean they can't possibly remake the first 6 games again, though really it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

Personally I'm dying for a remake of FF9, 7 is alright but way overrated I can name 5 FFs that are better than it. I won't mind a remake of 7 or 8 though.

They are making FF13-2. Their idea well has run dry.

Sorry, this has been debunked as silly Twitter people taking his comment the wrong way, he was just out with dinner for them and asked followers if they had any questions. It's actually embarrassing for that website to even keep that news up.

The headline is a bit sensationalist, but the article never actually says the remake is coming, only that Kojima passed the message along to Square.
