So apparently there's confirmation from South American press that the actual Budget ranges betwen $45 Million and $50 Million and the $100 Million was just James Marsters bragging. That makes much more sense if its true, if thats the case it already made up half of its budget from the huge Asia success of the film. This thing just might actually be successful :sly: And successful enough for a sequel :disappoin With Wilmer Valderaama as Vegeta who would probably be a highschool jock that wants to beat up Goku cause he dented his car and Nappa would be the typical big black bodyguard.

You're very right dude. Asia alone made half the budget already, and whether if it's true or not, I heard a sequel was recently green-lit.


Sequel Greenlit?

At the end of a rather routine TV Guide interview with James Marsters (Piccolo) on April 6th, it was revealed by the host that Justin Chatwin (Goku) had said the sequel to Dragonball: Evolution was recently green-lit.

If that’s true, it’s somewhat of a surprise the studio hasn’t decided to wait until after the movie premieres in North America. But, with the newly confirmed budget of $50 million and *SPOILER* a cliffhanger at the end of Evolution, it’s not impossible.

Well it is Fox they are a bunch of Mr. Krabs money whores. Hell a few weeks ago they were already talking about green lighting an X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2.

I saw it in theaters with a giant group (30ish people), the whole theater was laughing so hard that people from the neighboring theaters complained. :laugh: There was only one fat girl that was trying to actually watch the movie seriously(shockingly) and tried to tell everyone to stop laughing. It was a large crowd.

But really now you are doing it wrong if you watch the movie and try to take it seriously.

Well it already did almost better than Legend of Chun Li's entire run with just one weekend :laugh: We'll see how Dragonball turns out once it finishes its entire run in the US and UK.

I didn't mind the movie at all. I thought it was a fun no brainer.

Just saw the movie. Loved it.

I didn't read this MSNBC review until I got home from seeing it, and it is very spot-on.

It's a total popcorn movie, and that's all I really expect from anything Dragonball related.

The only real complaint I had with the movie was [HIDE]We're never told or shown just how Piccolo escapes. Nor do we hear the name of his sole underling onscreen, or find out exactly where and how he got that swanky flying fortress. Though I suppose it could have been his to start with, and he stashed it when he came to Earth originally[/HIDE]

The fights were amazing, and James Marsters is a great villain. I just wish he had a little more screen time.
