Dragonball Evolution Sequel Official!!

Actually I am and was a Dragon Ball fan. Love it. I just know that no matter what movie is made, the original will always be there.

That and that the movie is and would have to be something else of a different incarnation. And what they created wasn't that bad.
See now that's how you properly look at things. That's how I look it too, less stress haha...

...too bad the movie was just bad I kinda lost it haha

I'd rather there not be another so when i get reputable into the movie biz, I can make two trilogies of the Dragonball series.

The First trilogy would cover Dragonball and the second Z because let's face it , DB is an epic about a child isolated from the rest of the world thrown in dangerously strange situations after he's brought out of the mountains by a girl .

Here's my characterizations :

Bulma's kind of like a motherly/ sisterly figure to the child, and takes advantage of his strength and ignorance to help her find the Dragonballs , but not a complete bitch . Roshi is more akin to the imperfect father figure since he's a perv and all that, but an old frail wise man that never ceases to support his pupil or "son". Yamcha is the metaphor for puberty and it's insecurity as well as the angst. Pu'ar and Oolong... not so sure right now.
Kuririn is like the twin brother or rival to Goku, and while he has the downfalls of being vain , he has a kind heart that looks out for his brother .

Once I get the opportunity for to do these trilogies in the future, i hope to not only do justice to the fans , but make a film for the wider audience and to capture the essence of Dragonball to put on screen. Sure it will take a while , or it might if I'm lucky be very soon , but once i get my hands on this franchise , it will be a ride since I've been a fan since I was small. I want to in the near future meet Akira Toriyama face to face when i get the thumbs up so i can work out the details and see to it project his vision the best i can possible into adapting it .

Anybody could make a better story then what Ben Ramsey wrote. I mean he's a scab writer after all. I'm not even sure if the dude's a real DB fan. Good luck with it though

So you don't mind if any adaptations are done badly just because the original's gonna be always around?

it's still no wonder people still get pissed over any badly done remake of past movies. An adaptation still has to live up pretty closely to its original counterpart to be more recognizable among viewers.

What they created had some resemblance to the original DB but it felt more like it was oddly inserted into the story instead of being a natural part of it. Though at least they did include some aspects of DB, The Legend of Chun Li is far less faithful to its original than Dragonball was.

After seeing the Last Airbender trailer, it renewed hope that Goku could once again be made young in a film with his staff and I also feel that Avatar is kinda like DB in the beginning with Aang/Goku being discovered in a distant land /time . Also , Goku is the only saiyan on earth at the time while Aang is the last airbender known at the time. Both are innocent carefree individuals who grow into maturity to save the world.

I also have another scifi related project /novel that i will not announce on here except give you this:

It's Power Rangers + Guyver+Post Apocalyptic World + Bionicle.

It's a new scifi series that i've conceived to bring the sentai concept to the US in literary form , as in it will be serious tone. I will announce it to all you once I get a publisher for it (After it gets written).

Also I'm writing a more serious version of ATLA into novel form currently geared towards a contemporary readership to compete with Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series. If you want to give me pointers , PM me.

I would have done that if the movie would not have been THAT bad. but having the Dragon Ball name in a movie that made many non-dragon ball fans gag.

I'm yet to see the movie, but after the things I heard, I don't want to, is a very bad adaptation of the series, and probably a bad movie overall. now Tokyo Gore Police...that was awesome.

I liked the first one.. I got no problem with this. :D

you did? I was excited over a DBZ movie for a long time but the movie was poorly constructed. nothing really explained and the plot feeling forced down a familiar path. But I will say that I applaud them for the action sequences and staying true to the whole "beams" and flying thing.
