Dragon Knight vs RPM?

I'm tired of the lighthearted and stupid retarded lame comedy in Disney's Power Rangers. I wish they would use a dark season, but nope. It's all Disney. Disney. FUCKING DISNEY.

**** YOU, DISNEY. :redface2:

Oh no. Don't get me wrong. Power Rangers doesn't have to be a prime time drama, but it has to be on the level that Lost Galaxy and Time Force is. Dark, but not "The Dark Knight" dark. Like the level that KRDK is.

I was hoping that with RPM having aliens already taking over the world and making it a wasteland, it would be as dark or darker than "The Rescue Mission" episode from Lost Galaxy. But it eventually turned out to be really silly and having short battles kinda like the previous Disney seasons.

"Dark", "dark", "dark" that's all I'm hearing what is wrong with a show being funny especially when the comedy in it is funny, why should a show like Pr be dark for you guys. The show has a more serious plotline but in the end it is a kids show it shouldn't have to be "dark" especially when it's just starting. I'm sure the more serious episodes willl come down the line but asking a show like PR to be "dark" and serious all the time throughout its season is stupid. Also the reason I use guotes is because what is "dark" really because when I look at Krdk or timeforce and lostgalaxy I see a deeper plotline but not "Dark." And in the end those shows still lightened up for the sake of the audience that they are for. All I'm saying you shouldn't ask a show to be something it isn't especially when as it is know it's still a good show.

That's exactly what I meant about dark Tokusatsu shows. When I said dark plot and tone for Kamen Rider and Power Rangers, I didn't mean prime time drama or "The Dark Knight" dark. I meant deeper plotlines and more serious tone.....two things that RPM lacks except for the premiere episodes. After episode 2, it started to reveal its Disney colors and started rushing out battles.

Definitely Dragon Knight. It's a show that has a darker and more complex storyline than what you normally see in Power Rangers, and that includes RPM. The show goes through stuff such as trust, betrayal, loyality, trechery, etc. While the storyline for it is "good vs. evil", sometimes you might see evil Riders fighting other evil Riders, like the one that's coming next week. And you've got General Xaviax, who is one sinister and cunning villain. No villain in Power Rangers has been as threatening as Xaviax is, and there's no "Monster of the Week" in the show. Plus Len/Kamen Rider Wing Knight is the fighter in the show because he's played by 5-time martial arts world champion Matt Mullins. Do you see anybody like that in RPM? HELL NO! And most of the characters in the show are like anti-heroes, and that's what I love.

Now in terms of how faithful it is to the Kamen Rider franchise in Japan, its storyline is not directly copied off Ryuki, but it does feel like a Kamen Rider series regardless. It's like a mix between the Showa era (Black and Black RX) and the Heisei era, with a little Ryuki mix into it. For example, what they got from the Showa era, you've got General Xaviax, a central villain, original motorcycle props for Kit and Len, spinning advent decks on their belts (like the Typhoon Belt from the original 1971 Kamen Rider), and the occasional teamup between Kit and Len, kinda like what Ichigo and Nigo did in the original. What they got from Heisei was Riders fighting other Riders, a dark, dramatic storyline with mystery, developments, and all that ****, and each episode ends by building up to the next episode.

I'll admit that I don't like any of Maya's friends, but that's just a minor flaw for the show.

As for RPM, it had an awesome premiere, but I felt it went downhill because I thought this was gonna be different from the previous Disney seasons, but nope. It's starting to regain the goofiness that it usually has. And I was hoping that this would be MUCH better than Go-onger because of the premiere, but because o the kiddy comedy and silliness from episodes 3, 4, and 5, I hate to say this, but it's starting to be LIKE Go-onger, and I don't like Go-onger at all. Maybe it'll get better when Judd Lynn takes over as the head writer again. After all, he did Power Rangers Time Force, the best season of all time.

I agree with you. As what this guy says, I go Kamen Rider Dragon Knight for a long ride in the road.

You know if the show after KRDK (if they're adapting another KR) is "The Dark Knight" "Dark" then I'd be as happy as hell. That's what I enjoy. Things that actually makes sense and interesting to watch. I tried a few PR episodes from RPM, didn't make sense to me. I remember watching Lost Galaxy, and i think I enjoyed them, but not as much as I would with Kamen Rider shows.

What I wouldn't mind, but would LOVE is if the next Kamen Rider adaption is made in the format like those TV Series (Prison Break, Heroes). They'd actually make it really interesting.
