[GAME] CthulhuTech: The Eldritch Society -- Episode 1

Torch loomed over the the very much injured Ramachese, bumping his fists together to taunt it a little. "This is gonna hurt you a lot more than its gonna hurt me, I can guarantee ya that. Sit back and let it happen and maybe it will hurt a little less." with that it laced his fingers together, raised his arms and slammed them downward like a hammer onto the Dhohanoid.

Combat: Torch vs. Ramachese
Likewise, Ramachese’s Penalties render it unable to defend itself this turn. It rolls 10 dice for damage (17). Ramachese sustains 1 point of Moderate Wounds, then 12 points of Serious Wounds, then 4 points of Death’s Door, and loses consciousness, bleeding out.

The Ramachese, sprawled on the floor, was too stunned to roll aside. Torch’s huge fists slammed down on its gut, and an almost cinematic gout of blood fountained out of the spot where the burning armour landed. Most of the thing’s fur was now burnt away, exposing cooked, gruesomely crimsoned flesh. Steam roses from it in a cloud. Torch watched as the Ramachese’s eyes flickered briefly, then slid shut.

With one opponent dead and two unconscious, combat can be considered over, with the victory going to the Tagers.

[HIDE]And now, to celebrate this momentous occasion, a little something from my native shores:

With a satisfied grin he looked down at the fallen Dhohanoid as his otherworldly Efreet shape dissolved, leaving him in his human state once more. "Alright Feast, you remember the plan, put those wings of yours to use so we can catch up to the others." he said, figuring he would be far easier to airlift if he wasn't a big blazing fiery titan of flaming doom.

"And no bloodsucking or I light up again." he had a feeling it was a good idea to add that disclaimer.

Stealth looked at namarok's still body and scowled, it seemed by the time there was enough of the poison to paralyze its lungs, the dhoanoid would probably be dead anyway.

Stealth's flesh became fibrous as it unwrapped itself from Varna's body and re-entered the young Xenomixes body through an unseen portion of his torso. Turning to feast and torch, he addressed the two.

"I'll go with you too, it'll likely be faster then running and swimming."

Looking down at his fist, Feast calmly licked every drop off before turning to his comrades. Feast smiled again, fangs a crimson color now, and motioned for the two to come closer. Feast effortlessly picked up Torch with his right hand and Stealth with his left. Shifting the two so they were more comfortable (as Feast had picked them up by the back's of their shirts), Feast stepped out the building and took to the sky.

"Don't worry... that little snack satiated my appetite Torch. And Tagers aren't a good meal anyway..."

The Vampire’s great wings unfurled from his armoured back, and with an almost effortless jump he was airborne and gliding into the night, leaving the three Dhohanoid corpses within to slowly begin dissolving into frothing, black and red mush.

XXXXX

“Rotor, I need a situation report…â€

“Rotor here,†the Lorekeeper said quietly into her comm unit, “Lancer, Daredevil, Ghost and I are on the towboat. Next step’s reaching the Piper. The crew heard us moving about and are presently investigating, but I think we’re okay.â€

“Good,†was Inaba’s response, with audibly cautious relief, “see if you can move everyone to the adjacent barge. It’s got a great big tarpaulin in the middle. If the Tagers return to mortal form, it should sufficiently conceal you until the cargo’s aboard. If they send any Dhohanoids with it, it’ll be less hassle than fightin’ an entire ship full of ‘em.â€

“What happens after we get the crate?â€

“Fog’s men will handle pickup. He’ll give them the go ahead on my signal. If you can capture the cargo without destroyin’ it, just make sure you keep it out of Chrysalis hands until they arrive.â€

“Copy that,†said Rotor.

“Feast and the others finally finished stompin’ the Goombas inside,†said Inaba, “I’ve managed to keep the whole thing quiet somehow, else they’d be expectin’ a lot more company soon. They’re headin’ your way now. Stay on your toes in case they plan to be as subtle as they were before.â€

“Yeah, I see them, Inaba,†said Rotor, glancing skywards as a black shape swooped through the air. She bit down on her bottom lip, waiting to see if Feast and his payload would be able to land without alerting the boat’s three-man crew. She doubted they would present any problem by themselves, but there was always the risk they would be able to warn those on the Piper. She switched channels. “Torch, this is Rotor. I can see you coming. Tell Feast to try and land on the barge and go straight to mortal form. Use the big tarp to hide.â€

I’d like Feast to roll his Stealth Skill, with his Agility Attribute as a base, with a -1 Test Penalty due to the added weight.

"Hey Feast Rotor says to try to land on the barge , shift back and hide under a tarp." He said, relaying the info as he was asked. "Think you can pull it off?"

Feast silently nodded. Gliding down as low as he could without injuring his passengers, Feast braced for the landing on the barge.

Feast’s Challenging Test: SUCCESS.

The shadow of the Vampire swept over top of the boat, causing a gust of wind that caused Keith and the newly returned Joe to look up. They were not in time to catch an actual glimpse of the Tager and his cargo, who presently had touched down on the connected barge, just out of view of the towboat’s lamps. The tarpaulin stretched across the floor of the lowered deck floor of the barge, fastened by strong ropes around sturdy, iron pins. It would be loose enough for them to squirrel beneath in their mortal states. Its purpose was likely to protect any precious cargo the vessel might be carrying in the event of bad weather.

“I don’t see anything,” said Keith, “but this is getting a lot weirder than I like.”

“I know what you mean,” Joe nodded, “so let’s just get this job over with so’s we can get out of here, okay? I’ll let the skipper know we’re ready to cast off.”

Keith nodded, and as Joe went back inside again, he remained on the deck, gun in hand, ready for anything.

Rotor looked to the three Tagers closest to her. “What d’you guys reckon?” she asked. “Take this tub by force, or follow the boys under that tarp and let this lot do half the work for us? Because between you and me, I can’t drive a boat.”

Still holding Rotor, Daredevil clambered down quietly as she could then released the lorekeeper. Keeping low the tager made the gesture of pointing toward the tarp covered area and nodding, before starting to move to the next bit of cover.
