[GAME] CthulhuTech: The Eldritch Society -- Episode 1

Staying silent, Stealth slowly searched around and between cylindrical generators for the gate controls. As he searched the Tager suddenly had an idea that he quickly relayed to ghost telepathically.

"Ghost just a suggestion but if the guards end up following you down here and your stuck trying jumping up and phasing through the ceiling."

Keeping an eye out for the guard present, he remained calm and collected as he searched for the gate controls. Regardless of ghost's mishaps he remained an unknown and that gave him an advantage even over the possible Chrysalis agent present.

"Brilliant suggestion," he thought to his fellow Tager. "If we run into any trouble, I'll be the catalyst to lead them away from you. If my mishap will have caused anything, it will be the success of this mission."

Ghost followed closely behind Stealth, and kept an eye and ear open. He positioned himself just enough so that their last entry point would be guarded by his prying eyes.

Stealth’s Challenging Test: SUCCESS.

Stealth found the console attached to the appropriate generator. The set-up had been clearly cobbled together recently, and in all likelihood the modifications like the strange door had been recent additions demanded by Chrysalis. The whole complex, as far as they had seen, was a mish-mash of technology, sometimes it was new and sometimes it was five, ten, maybe even twenty years old! To put it simply, the building was a bit of a sad joke, even against the backdrop of a small island that unwittingly played host to a high-tech underwater facility. Now Stealth was this far, it would be easy to shut down the power to the outside defences, allowing his comrades to get past the gates and make a break for their awaiting quarry, using the confusion and the darkness to their advantage.

At the top of the stairs, just inside the door, Ghost could hear the thundering footsteps of the guards rushing towards them. The suited man appeared at the end of the hall and went for his comm, having noticed the metal door hanging open. “Op. 148 calling in. We have G.P.C.,” he growled into the device, and started moving towards the door. Ghost felt a prickling behind his eyes as the divine creature in his mind, his partner for the rest of eternity who was as much Ghost as himself, coursed an electrical signal directly into his consciousness. There was no mistaking it. The man was a Dhohanoid. The three purely human guards were close behind.

In an effort to create as little sound as possible stealth slowly disabled the power heading toward the gate. Satisfied examined the controls and pondered if he could just smash them and hope for the best but given the patch work nature of the generator room he started to look around for a more discreet solution. As he searched he whispered a message off to Inaba.

“Stealth here, I’ve disabled the gate’s power. I’m currently looking for a way to keep it that way any advice?â€

As circled the room he made sure to keep an eye on the controls just in case the lone guard went to check on it.

"Great. Did you open it first?" Inaba asked, a little acidly. She wanted to pull the plug as soon as they failed to sneak past the first guard, but she knew that wasn't really an option here. "Anyway, you could try severing the power cable to the control panel."

Ghost bounded down the halls as quickly and quietly as possible, trying not to alert his comrade next to the generator. As he found Stealth, he got up close to him and thought his statement as calmly as he could.

"We've got company. I was watching the back entrance and heard some people coming by. Then, my symbiote told me that we've got a Dhohanoid closing in on us. We need to hurry and get this thing going, and we need backup. If all else fails, I'll buy you guys some time and lure them around the complex while it all goes to ****."

Stealth froze on hearing cold question, did he really forget to open the gate after all this trouble? Was he so absent minded? Not thinking he spun around and checked the controls once more before Slouching in relief he remembered the gates were open, not that he’d admit he ever doubted it. Shortly after the young Tager followed Inaba’s suggestion and torn out the power cable to controls as quietly as he could, the when ghost arrived. Stealth remained coldly silent as ghost explained the situation after a brief pause he offered a suggestion.

“The generator is disabled and the gates open, we can probably get out of here now with you jumping through the ceiling and I sneaking out but maybe if I’m unseen I can paralyze him before he has a chance to transform, that would give us ample time to kill him.â€

Stealth couldn’t help but feel somewhat unnerved by his own suggestion, he had been embracing his symbiont’s influence up to this point but the idea of him coldly and methodically killing another still felt somewhat alien.

Having been confined to the truck as everything went to hell, Gray twisted a lip in disgust.

"If you do not wish to kill Stealth than I would be happy to clean up." Gray rapidly licked his lips. "A Dhohanoid would provide a nice snack..."

Ghost considered Stealth's decision, although he wished his own strategy would come to pass. When he asked for a concern from his symbiont, the creature in his head followed along with his comrade's plan. Was that it? Shouldn't his symbiont wish for a more violent approach to this course of action? Or was his earlier knock out enough to satiate the beast within? Either way, his symbiont's response was as cold as the outer shell he could now summon at will.

"Inaba, I'll need an escape route," Ghost thought to their tactician. "Stealth," he then turned to his comrade, "Do you need me to stick behind in case things go south?"

When his symbiont growled in protest, Ghost told it to shut up. He wasn't sure if that was a good idea or not, but he had to make a move fast regardless of what his inner demon thought best.

“I don’t know what to expect from this to be honest ghost, unless you think you can’t keep hidden it might be best if you stayed. You too Feast, a loud distraction would only help my escape while you’re being massacred on your way here.â€

Stealth responded with a spiteful tone as he began to address Feast. The growing chaos of the situation did not please his Symbiont serving to only intensify the pressure Varna felt as he moved into position. The Tager tried his best to recall the confidence he felt when he disabled the first guard and readied his aim as he fired his needles laced in paralytic poison at the unchanged Dhohanoid.
