Can someone answer me this?

On Saturday, both my mom and my aunt said that I am being selfish for wanting to be single. Its been bugging me for the last day and a half. So my question is this: Am I being selfish for wanting to be single?

uhh..no

your not hurting anyone in anyway, or yourself cuz it's your choice.

but for the rest of your life iono

No. It's your life. You live it how you want. No one said anyone had to get married to be happy.

If anything it's your parents that are being selfish.

On Saturday, both my mom and my aunt said that I am being selfish for wanting to be single.

Well that's a bullshit statement.

Let me tell you this my friend. The people that I know who are dating somebody.....are the unhappiest people I have ever seen in my life. They have to worry about what their other half thinks all the time. Hell, a friend of mine said that her boyfriend was an overprotective bastard. The people that feel like they HAVE to be with somebody are no better.

Enjoy your freedom. Be a whore!:buttrock:

Even though I'm bored with being single; Stay that way if you need to. I cannot stress enough that being in a possesive relationship is much worse than being single. I learned that myself recently with Jasmine...:redface2:

Actually, I think that's the most UNselfish thing you can do. I stay single because I don't make a very good boyfriend. At least I don't think I do. I think its why I drive a lot of people out of my life. I like being alone. Now you must be thinking "Kenori! Thats Horrible!" but its the truth. There really isnt anything better to me than a good saturday night spent by myself with a good book or the WII or a good episode of House or all three. Its just the way I am.

So no I dont think you are selfish. Like I said, its quite the opposite.

There is nothing wrong with being single if you want to stay single...that is your choice. Your not being selfish. Not everybody get married.

I'm 30 and still have never gotten a girlfriend...I hope I do someday.

I've been in my current relationship for 11 months now, and while I love my girlfriend and would do anything for her, I can definitely say that sometimes being single is a lot less pressure. When you're in a healthy relationship, you have to worry about your significant other as well as yourself, whereas when you're single all you have to do is not get shot and don't drink poison and you'll be OK.

Sounds as if your parents are the ones that's being selfish. There are some people that can survive without being in any relationship and still remain happy. Yet there are times when people just can't stand being alone and that they have to be in a relationship. It depends on you and what makes you happy. I agree with bolt, I've tasted love so many times, and yet I refuse to go any further. I know the consequances behind it. Being in a healthy relationship fucks you up mentally. You're constantly worrying about your significant other as well as yourself, afriad of losing that same person you love and hold dear the most.
