[Cartoon] Beware The Batman -TALK UP

Okay, so episode 2 is definitely much better then episode 1.

Magpie was a much more interesting villain. I might not like the animation style, but I love watching it during fight scenes, those are pretty well done I have to say.

Overall, this series has my attention, enough to keep going with it I think.

Outside action scenes, the characters seem impossible stiff. The animation doesn't even come close to GLTAS.

But yeah, it is far better that I had expected when it was first announced... I still would have preferred the No Man's Land adaptation that DC supposedly considered before this show.

With the way they're bringing in Katana it kind of makes me wonder if they're going to turn her into basically Kato to Batman's Green Hornet.

I'd have preferred a Gotham Knights approach, with Batman working with strictly Gotham heroes. Something like Brave and the Bold, but with the visual sensibilities of BTAS, but that's me.

The Dark adult tone of BTAS meets the quirky cast of BATB is a good way to describe it, I think

You know I think Magpie could end up being one of the hallmark characters of the series. I like how they are treating the villains with a fair of respect. I mean they took Magpie which is probably one of DC's more notable goofy villains and not only turned her competent foe she actually got one over on Batman.

This may just be me but I am enjoying the fact that we are not getting a "Bat-god" portrayal here. I think having Batman be vulnerable adds to character, he goes out every night despite the danger and harm that comes his way.

As for the Kato, it explains her mask in the promotional material. I hope that at one points Bruce hands her a hat and she just glares at him.

Two episodes in and I'm really enjoying this series so far. I've really enjoyed a lot of the lower tier Batman villains they have brought into the show so far. It goes to show you can take any character and level them up to make them an actually threat. I'm really looking forward to next weeks episode and I hope the show succeeds in the long run.

I watched both episodes last night, and I was VERY impressed.

I like how we're getting a lot of Bruce outside of the mask. I don't think that's happened since TAS. I also enjoy how Batman isn't the Deus Ex Machina he's often portrayed as, where he can beat every bad guy even though he has no superpowers. This Batman can't do that, so instead, he uses his deduction skills to solve the crimes, thus emphasizing that he's the world's greatest detective, which also gets ignored a lot in adaptation.

Much like how Batman: BatB showcased the lesser-known heroes in the DC universe, I also enjoy that they're showing off the lesser-known villains in the Batman rogues gallery. I'm sure we'll get Joker and Riddler and Two Face all later on, but for now, it's nice to see someone new.

I feel like this is very much in the style of Young Justice. Where Young Justice felt like a CW show at times, Beware the Batman definitely had some mystery and police procedural elements to it, so this is probably the closest we'll get to a Gotham Central adaptation.

The only thing I didn't really care for was the animation. I don't mind CG, but it looked kind of cheap, definitely inferior to other shows like Green Lantern and Ninja Turtles.

Still, I'm definitely gonna keep watching. I was not expecting to enjoy this nearly as much as I did, so I was pleasantly surprised. This is essentially the show The Batman SHOULD have been, if it hadn't gotten stuck pushing new toys every week, and then trying to backpedal to appease the TAS fanboys. So it's definitely odd to me that people have been saying The Batman is better than this show, when The Batman WISHED it could be this show.

I just hope for a Robin sooner rather than later.

It would be even better if they just ignore the usual order of Robins and go with someone other than Dick.
