Battle Damage in Kamen Rider

This is why I get bored of some episodes quickly. You don't really get that "epic" feeling as you would while watching Kuuga compared to the few latest series.

Most of the battle damage nowadays are either CGI, or sparks. Accel's injuries were all CGI. It doesn't make it as interesting as actually being chewed. There are a million ways to film those scenes, but CGI was chosen cause they saw it as easiest and fastest.

Kuuga had a lot of intense stuffs going on and all those battle damages. That's why I'm disappointed in Decade when he brought Kuuga back. I was hoping for more.

To be fair for W though,judging from how a Memory Break and other Gaiamemories attacks is not deadly lethal to a Dopant(as in it won't kill them,look at W,the riders never actually directly killed any dopant except poor old Utopia),it probably implies that the same should quite apply for the opposite way.

It kinda shows the suit's protection isn't completely useless.Any ordinary human could have gotten killed.

I've always thought of most Kamen Rider suits being made of "Hard-Light" and so doesn't get damaged in conventional ways. Sword slashes/shots from guns don't cause damage by slicing or piercing their target as much as the force of the hit is split between 1: Depleting the energy used to power the armor and 2: Damaging the user inside the armor.

^ Right. The person takes the damage. It isn't about the suit. Faiz took insane amounts of damage and he came back to win in the end. That's awesome.

Kuuga was meant to be a reboot series so i guess they wanted it to be as dark as Kamen rider Shin or such, That's why Kuuga and Agito are made of awesome!!! :buttrock:

I think the budget does have a lot to do with it.

When Kuuga arrived, it was one of the biggest things in Japan, and lots of tributes and revivals of Kamen Rider were made, so it's no surprise they would spend lots of money on it.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Amazon yet. The kaijins and him both dropped more blood than a kombatant in the Mortal Kombat series. Of course, this series was made to be different.

I think they save big damages, like having a visor broken or pieces of the suit fall to important, epic moments.

I think it comes down to the fact that a rider suit is expensive to make compared to an all spandex Sentai suit. nowadays im sure they cant afford to be spending money on a broken helmet or chunk of armor thatll only be seen once in the show

I loved in how episode 47, Daguba crushed Kuuga's mask inwards. And it was all bloody.

Blade had some sick battle damage, though I only recall it happening once or twice.

[HIDE]With Blade, when he fought the Elephant Undead where it crushed his visor. And when Garren fought the Giraffa Undead, how the visor was also damaged in that battle. [/HIDE]

I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff like that.
