Gaim isn't dark, ok.
Big spoiler here
[HIDE]If you eat a fruit, you'll become a Magical Girl. And Hase is going to become one.[/HIDE]

yeah, i already know that....i already thought that since episode 9 tbh
i mean the other thing that associates darker things that people always thought.

honestly, i never watch one of urobutchi's work except psycho pass and even i don't watch that show frequently, so i can only guess what is the dark thing they always wanted in urobutchi's gaim.
i'm sorry if i only do a guessin thing here

Hey, if Double can have Gaia Memories be implied to be drugs then, what's wrong with Invess being some f'ked up version of Investment Banking? XD

One, a kid has literally zero chance of being offered a chance to try investment banking and enjoy how awesome it is on his way to school.

Two, when an adult of the 2020s does decide to try investment banking, he/she is not going to go back to that time in 2014 when that Kamen Rider was warning him about its potential downsides through an unnecessarily intricate metaphor. The connection between Memories (and to a certain extent, Switches) to drugs is much more direct.

....
........
You know I was just joking, right?

Yes. Yes, I was.

But it actually made me question my own logic for a bit so I decided to write it down.:laugh::laugh: I just woke up for an emergency rush job on math and my brain was still racing.

i take it from the interview

see !?? it's not gonna be dark as we always thought it would be :169:

i've shown this to my friend and now he's speechless

Now I'm interested to see his other work, Madoka. I didn't know that the motifs are always made by the producers before giving them to the head writer and he has to make a series out of them, but Gen Urobuchi has done a marvelous job integrating the motifs to the show, and made skeptics like me into believers. I hope the next 3 arcs of Gaim will be even better than the first one, and I think it has a chance to become one of the very best in the KR franchise when it's all said and done.

now talking about urobutchi himself, personally i think what he'd done until now is really amazing judging this is his first step for writing a tokusatsu's story.
like i said earlier, i didn't know about his anime works, but i can imagine the difference between the environment of anime and tokusatsu, and he's doing a great job in this new environment :buttrock:

and to be honest, i like his way of separating the story by creating an arc between the first 10-12 episode...
maybe he will create such "age of lock dealer" arc in the the next quarter and so on ?

Say what?:eyebrow: *cracks knuckles* I understand thats your opinion but I highly doubt it will be one of the best in KR history. I'm not sure if you've seen any of the older shows like Blade as one example. This honestly in my personal opinion doesn't have anything on some of the shows from the past as of right now. Not even close...

I'm not having a problem with Gaim except for a few things(characters) here and there that I won't mention but the show as of right now isn't really breaking any new ground. Except for having the first flaming gay Kamen Rider in a series. We shall see I guess what else is in store for this series. I'm glad you have faith in it. But I'm still skeptical.

At least by the end of the first quarter, it is one of the best - told Neo Heisei series so far. But this is still the beginning of the second quarter, so yiss.

I can agree with that. It is the best handled Neo Heisei series. W in my opinion was and is the best Neo Hesei series. But everything else in between is just plain meh...

The dances, some characters and the threat level is just meh...

But that's just me.

I'm sorry, this is by far the worst series I have ever seen. So you mean to say this series is on par with W? This series tries to juggle way too many themes and motifs and handles them all poorly. The dancing bit would have been cool if these kids could really dance. Then to top it off the dance theme is stepped on by the Inves battles. Then you got these poor guys walking around in fruit suits...which IMO are the worst designed Kamen Riders to date. This alone stops it from being one of the best Neo Heisei stories.

By the second quarter of W I was pretty invested in the characters and their plights, but in this series I couldn't care less what happens to anyone (Not like anything would happen to them anyway being that the threat level in this series is almost nonexistent). There are even characters in this show that you tune in every week wishing and praying they would have their Rider Systems taken or destroyed. The lead playing Gaim is doing all he can with a crap character, crap designs, crap character development, and super crappy co-stars. I feel sorry for the guy to have to say, "yea, I was the Rider with an orange on his head".

You have the right to your opinion, but I could never say this series is one of the best of the Heisei series.
