It almost seems like some sort of ironic joke at this point that the Deadpool movie is finally under way. To finally add some fuel to this fire to make it seem more real, Ryan Reynolds has revealed to the world via Twitter the first look at him as Deadpool in costume. You can check out the first shot of Reynolds in costume as Deadpool below.
The tweet with the picture reads, “With great power comes great irresponsibility,” in a fun play on the famous Uncle Ben Parker quote from the Spider-Man series. Casting news for the movie has definitely picked up as of late. The likes of Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein and Gina Carano are all official for the cast. It is almost surreal this movie is even actually happening at this point. This is considering that 20th Century Fox originally announced a Deadpool film in 2009 after the poorly received X-Men Origins: Wolverine release, which included a much-maligned rendition of the Deadpool character.
The upcoming film will be an origin story for former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson. After being subjected to a rogue experiment, he gains accelerated healing powers and adopts the alter ego Deadpool. With new abilities and a twisted sense of humor, Deadpool pursues the man who almost destroyed his life. Deadpool is due out in theaters on February 12, 2016.
