There’s a sequel to the cult film Zombieland coming this October, and when it arrives, GameMill Entertainment will be ready with a video game adaption. Three days before Zombieland 2: Double Tap appears in theaters, Zombieland 2: Double Tap – Road Trip will be available for consoles and PC.
We couldn’t tell you the full plot of this game, as it follows the plot of the movie and that aspect is hush-hush. Fortunately the typical plot of a comedic zombie movie isn’t that deep, and translates to game form pretty well: get surrounded by hordes of zombies, then take them out in as outrageous a fashion as possible.
Set after the events of the first movie, Zombieland: Double Tap – Road Trip is a ridiculously fun top-down twin-stick shooter featuring local co-op multiplayer for up to four players. Play as your favorite heroes from the original — Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock — as well as new unlockable characters from the upcoming sequel.
Zombieland 2: Double Tap – Road Trip will keep your thumbs busy with a story-based campaign mode, a wave-based horde mode, and ongoing daily and weekly challenges. Typically clearing a map will require one specific action, whether it’s “kill all the zombies,” “turn on the main power,” “find the Twinkies,” or in the below screenshot, “find a (clean…ish) public bathroom.”
Zombieland 2: Double Tap – Road Trip will launch on Oct. 15, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC.
