Total War: Warhammer Will Be The Compilation Of Years Of Ideas
It’s natural for a franchise to always want to improve as time goes on and advancements in technology arise. But for some, it’s just hard to pinpoint how big to go. For the Total War franchise, it’s never had a problem with scale per se, but it has been a while since a new title has come out. But now, with the upcoming Total War: Warhammer, not only are they going to try and go bigger and better, they’re going fantastical.
In an interview with IGN, lead writer for Creative Assembly Andy Hall, they talked about what makes Total War: Warhammer so special, and how it will be the compilation of ideas and dreams that have been in their heads for quite some time.
“This is Part One of the Trilogy,” explains Hall. “Each game will be a standalone game, but the map of the second one, for example, will slot into the first one like a jigsaw. So you can play it on its own, but if you have the first one then they’ll slot together to create a bigger map. The third one will do the same and by the end of it we’ll have the largest Total War campaign there’s ever been.”
“What you’re getting in effect is four Total War experiences in one game – their Campaigns are totally different with their own agendas, aims and value systems,” he says.”
There’s no set date for the true return of Total War, or what consoles we can expect it on just yet. But once we know? We’ll fill you in.
