There are few 2022 movies we’re more hyped up for than Prey, the Predator prequel that takes things back to the past. In the 1987 original, a Native American member of the team suggested that his ancestors had encounters with Predators. Now we’ll find out what that was like.
Hulu’s Predator Prequel Sounds Friggin’ Awesome
If I told you Hulu was going to be producing their own sequel to the Predator franchise through 20th Century Studios, your reaction might not be an immediate “I’m there.” But that’s before you know the details. For one thing, it’s called “Prey,” it’s actually a prequel and it’s set 300 years in the past.
Prey: New Combat and Gameplay Videos Released
Bethesda Softworks released two new gameplay videos this week for the upcoming reboot of the Franchise. You can check out the new “Playing With Powers” video below. Another video you can check out is the “weapon and power combos” video.

Speaking to Metro (via PCGames), Bethesda Softworks vice president of PR and marketing, Pete Hines, commented on the cancellation for the original version of Prey 2 and why it didn’t work out. Several years ago, a new Prey 2 sequel was being developed. After a number of delays, the project was ultimately cancelled. Then, earlier this year, Bethesda and Arkane Studios announced that the franchise was being rebooted with the new game Prey, due out next year. This will be a completely new vision and reboot of the franchise that looks completely unrelated to the original. But what happened to Prey 2?

Prey 2: Bethesda Addresses Cancellation
At E3 2016, Bethesda Softworks revealed a new reboot for the original Prey video game. It’s an update for the franchise being developed by Arkane Studios, the makers of Dishonored and Dishonored 2. During QuakeCon, Gamespot spoke to Bethesda’s Pete Hines, who discussed the now-canceled version of Prey 2. The game was in the works a while back, and it was even previewed at E3 some years ago. However, it ultimately never materialized, and the game was ultimately cancelled.
E3 2016: New Prey Game By Arkane Studios Revealed
In a sort of surprise, Bethesda revealed that a new Prey title was coming, but it was not Prey 2, as was long in development. This is in fact an entirely different game. On the Bethesda website, more details were given about the title:
