Here’s what Oni Press is bringing to comics shops everywhere this June. Fans of Devolver Digital’s video game Cult of the Lamb are in for a surprise, as they’re teaming up with Oni to launch the official comic book adaption! When the Lamb was sacrificed at the altar to appease the old gods, that could have been the end of it…but the Lamb had other ideas! After striking a deal in the hereafter, Lamb has returned to exact vengeance against their murderers…and start a cult of their own! The first issue of CULT OF THE LAMB goes on sale June 5. The Rock and Morty Finals Week continues with The Wrath Of Beth! Rick founds his own religion on another planet just for the kick of it (and no, it doesn’t involve sacrificing lambs). When Space Beth visits the planet, she’s horrified to discover what they DO sacrifice are Morty clones! Beth feels she has to rescue her kid(s) and starts carving a path of destruction. Oni Press has released the list of comics they plan to release in the month of May. Even in the middle of winter, Oni is preparing for a long, hot, and possibly even toxic summer. Because “TOXIC SUMMER” is the name of one of their new books. Ben and Leo are two party-animal teens who just graduated high school and have three months of whooping it up by the beach planned….until said beach becomes the site for a radioactive waste spill. Soon hideous monsters start emerging from the goop, and they now have a lot more to deal with than cheap expired beer! The first of three issues telling this story will be out May 1. At first glance we thought “TOXIC SUMMER” would be a Rick and Morty book. Alas, there is no comic this month where Summer has to fight monsters, but there is the continued KINGDOM BALLS, a simultaneous parody of Japanese manga and video games in one. Oni Press plans to kick off 2024 with a mix of faces both new and old. Presenting a new story for the new year: JILL AND THE KILLERS! Everyone at Jill Estrada’s high school is playing the new true-crime game Box Killers, but after Jill is finally convinced to play, her own personal game seems to be getting a bit….TOO personal. The clues she’s receiving in the game seem to coincide with disappearances in her town, and now Jill and her friends could be next — if they can’t uncover the truth. The first of four issues for JILL AND THE KILLERS will be jumbo-sized at 48 pages and will be released January 31. The first-ever sequel to a Rick and Morty miniseries will arrive in January: Maximum Crescendo. Concerto and Chickenskin Dogskull are back and seeking revenge against Sanchez. Here are the midsummer surprises Oni Press has in store — the July list of releases. Rick and Morty will venture into the HEART OF RICKNESS this summer and face an Apocalypse…if not Now, then eventually. The Smith family finds themselves stranded on a primitive planet that seems to lack any technology Rick could use to repair their crashed ship. Little do they realize this IS an advanced civilization…it’s just been forcibly DE-advanced by a dictator who seems to resemble Rick. Find out more when the first of four issues is released July 12.
