This fall Rick and Morty: The Manga will be taking off with its first volume, and if you want a taste, there will be a place to lick it soon. In the next few weeks, comic shops across America will be receiving a pack of 20 preview comics, each 16 pages in length and suggested for an MSRP of free.

Late this fall Oni Press will be bringing us Rick and Morty: The Manga, aka the black-and-white adventures of a mad scientist and his family in a world of giant robots. Upon the initial announcement of this title last March, they let us show off a ten-page preview of the book, which you can still see here. Now they’ve let us look at five MORE pages! September will be a family-friendly month for Oni Press, as most of the books that don’t have Rick Sanchez on them are aimed at a young (or young at heart) audience.
Here are the midsummer surprises Oni Press has in store — the July list of releases.
Last month Oni Press announced the sci-fi horror anthology comic XINO, which will be released in three volumes over three months. XINO #1 is set to come out June 14, with futuristic tales from Melissa Flores (The Dead Lucky, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Daniel Irizarri (Judge Dredd), Chris Condon (That Texas Blood) and Nick Cagnetti (Pink Lemonade), Jordan Thomas (Weird Work) and Shaky Kane (Bulletproof Coffin), and Phil Hester (Gotham City: Year One).
Any frequent viewer of Adult Swim knows the higher-ups have been lending their most valuable property to Japan for the country’s own take on it. Two Rick And Morty anime specials have aired on the channel and a full series is in the works for the future. Oni Press, the current producer of Rick and Morty comic books, figured it was time to explore a similar market.
