Oni Press Solicitations July 2023
Here are the midsummer surprises Oni Press has in store — the July list of releases.
Rick and Morty will venture into the HEART OF RICKNESS this summer and face an Apocalypse…if not Now, then eventually. The Smith family finds themselves stranded on a primitive planet that seems to lack any technology Rick could use to repair their crashed ship. Little do they realize this IS an advanced civilization…it’s just been forcibly DE-advanced by a dictator who seems to resemble Rick. Find out more when the first of four issues is released July 12.
XINO #2 will be released in July. As we wrote previously, this second volume in Oni’s new sci-fi horror series will contain chillers by David and Maria Lapham, Alex Segura, François Vigneault, Artyom Trakhanov, Hagai Palevsky, Carson Thorn and Alissa Sallah. Details on the stories within are slight, but Oni hints at stories set in the prehistoric past, the dystopian future, and the equally dystopian present. Look for this one July 19.
Cullen Bunn’s LAMENTATION will finally conclude with issue 3 on July 12. There’s only one way for Jannifer and the other actors to escape the supernatural prison that is the Requiem Theatre — complete their first performance before a live audience. But is it that simple? Probably not. The issue also promises a “look at Oni’s next shocking horror sensation” which could mean a preview of the next Bunn GN, or something else entirely. The finale will be 48 pages long.
Finally, Nick Cagnetti’s PINK LEMONADE, one of Oni’s more hyped-up originals in recent months, gets its trade. All six issues will be collected in one 176-page volume. Other new trades include the full releases of ACTION JOURNALISM and UTOWN.
There’s more that we didn’t mention…check out Oni’s full list of July releases below.
