Why I don't like Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger / Sentai Anymore

Gokaiger saved Toei series in 2011 if you ask me, Kamen Rider OOO turned out to be really awful, boring, a big disappointment. hopefully Fourze is better.
I like to compare SentaixKamen Rider every year, and while i thought W was superior to Goseiger, Shinkenger pwned Decade big time, so its not like there is any trend. people should speak for themselves.

I don't believe OOO could possibly be any sort of a failure if it was a financial success and the most popular of the franchise's history, so that's just your opinion . So far after seeing the first six , it's really good . I just love the concepts the show has and how great the execution is of those concepts of greed. Probably because I love FMA which does the same premise of the seven sins being the enemies .

SS needs to loosen up and perhaps take a cue from the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers and make the mechs be like tanks and other giant piloted weapons but with mystical or supernatural undertones and perhaps have them go back to high school.

OOO was epic... i find it better than gokaiger even if its an anniversary show...

SS needs to be more realistic and grounded like KR... space pirates are kinda far-fetched than the space plot of fourze...

This.

People who think that toku should be realistic dont understand it at all...

There's a reason why they are called speculative fiction series and tokusatsu. Until we can hop into alternate universes ,can be possessed by physical entities who radically change our appearances , pilot giant weapons without any regulations and can gain superpowers, martial artist skills and a spandex suit from wearing a piece of technological wizardry, it will not be possible for now in our time.

There's a reason why human space pirates are not a reality yet it's because alien races simply are not interested about us and if they are only for labor and our resources. But really, we're just starting out so eventually there could be space pirates when space transportation becomes cheap, affordable to the masses, and able to travel very far really fast. We would also need a more efficient internet network that is mapped out not by wires, but through controlled radio waves ,fiber optics...

:Sigh:

I don't think toku necessarily need to be realistic, because what kind of realism is spandex-wearing, weapons-appear-out-of-nowhere, and giant mechs the size of skyscrapers fighting in the middle of the city? I do think that when it comes to characterization and development of the main protagonists, they should strive for some realism, so the audience can connect with them. If they make them too cartoony, they will just become a caricarture and hard to be taken seriously. I know Genta and Gai are very definition of caricarture, but they were created to offset the main group, which aren't half as exaggerated as these sixth senshis. If too may of them are behaving like Genta and Gai, I know that I'll be turned off by them.

i mean not as chessy or far-fetched...

sure decade or den-o or even the whole toku genre will never be that realistic...

but then again pirates wearing spandex from space that came from out of nowhere is still seems to be off to me than a guy with a power belt made by an evil organization that could travel to alternate worlds, or a train in the future that could travel time...

Yeah no. OOO was a hit. It made money for toei. Ratings don't mean a damn thing. Just because YOU personally didn't like it, doesn't make it a failure. I hope you can see the difference between your opinion on the show, and factual evidence about it's success.

Why do you waste your time comparing them. Seems like a boring thing to do. Why not just watch the shows you like and not watch the shows you don't like.

umm.. Do you even watch Kamen Rider? The fact that you say it's more "grounded in reality" than SS... Wow... I don't even.. Wow...:redface2::sly:

Gokaiger is indeed stale.

Indeed? You sure you want to use that choice of words?

no offense i do respect the franchise but i always see sentai as a cheesy show than KR... especially the robo battles which mostly doesnt really help move the plot... iv'e seen classic ones like jetman, turbo ranger and and i could really think that today's shows could do much better than just advertise toys...just like shinkenger being written well...

Kamen Rider been grounded since the first run of the Showa and even then it had aspects like kaijin and aliens that are not grounded. Unless he wants a show like the First.
