Why do people hate soccer moms so much?

No, it's that the network sent "consultants" in when the show as popular to monkey with it so it would be more popular. The changes involved making the writing flatter, simplified, and at points more sexist/racist (it was requested that Janine be more "motherly" and Winston be characterized as "the driver").

JMS, who was primarily responsible for the show's high quality, basically told the network to drop the consultant changes or he was leaving the series. The network refused, he left, and the ratings went all to **** because the scripts suddenly became worse.

The network begged JMS to come back and fix the show, which JMS only agreed to do if he could reverse a bunch of the mandated changes. He was allowed to do this, but by then so many new episodes had come and gone with shitty writing that JMS couldn't bring the kids back and so the show was canceled.

This was not a case of soccer mom interference, this was a case of network executives inexplicably deciding to take steps to make a hit show lousier. Every show on the network was treated that way and unsurprisingly only the comedy shows were able to deal with the consultants without having to make tons of changes.

4Kids had a different board of directors when TMNT was airing. When the new board came in, "Insane in the Membrane" had just completed production, and it was the first episode banned from airing under the new reigme. They demanded the series be toned down. Fast Forward went into production instantaniously.

Commity of Soccor Moms right there.

Let's not forget, the Soccer moms that got The Shaman King banned from FoxBox due to "too much violence".

But Shaman King was awesome!

Wasn't The Real Ghostbusters canceled because 'soccer mom's complained that they used guns and it was violent? I honestly can't remember.

...What is this I don't even

Conclusion: People hate soccer moms mainly because they try to sugar coat everything.

We don't hate Soccer moms. They just put up the sterotype that of a caucasuin woman who lives in the suburbs and who has two kids tops and a husband with an overdeaming office job in whic he doesn't have time to spend with his family. They also are always driving a mini-van which the vehicle itself given a bad name. Alot of women don't wanna be soccer moms because it will mean that they fall into the sterotype of a modern suburbian woman who doesn't have a life for herself but the drive her kids to soccer practice and put on a fake smile and talk about which of their kids are better in school than the other soccer moms kids. But no. We don't hate Soccer moms.

BTW Shaman King is garbage. It sucked as an anime and it sucked as a manga. Which is why Shonen Jump shitcanned it a long time ago

Those bitches got MMPR banned in Canada back in 1993 aswell. Luckily if you had cable you could still watch it on Fox Kids.

I remember waaaaaay back... way back when the dinosaurs still roamed the Earth >_> ...ok, not that long ago. :P During the good old days when there was some dude called PJ Phil (?) on YTV in Canada and they showed Power Rangers on that station. Is that why it was never shown again on YTV? ...after that, like you said Fox Kids became the only option.

On the topic of soccer moms, I remember a friend in high school who's mother was a "soccer mom" (I think... well, it seemed like it). He was the oldest of three kids... and the whole family did go to soccer practice together every week... and the mother was also over-protective of her "little angels".

The said friend was expected to call his mom for permission to go everywhere... like when we had a group project for school, he was expected to call his mom when he arrived at my house. And also call his mom when we had to go out to eat or get something or whatever. >_>

Power Rangers is banned in New Zealand as well. Which is stupid since that's where it's filmed.
