What's so bad about Go-Busters?

Fantasy leader, goty and Dr. Kain already put down good points so, I'll just say that...

- The whole "they're dead, no they're not" stuff with Enter and Escape got ridiculously annoying after a while.
- Escape was a waste; I was watching Cutie Honey the Live around the same point and Ayame Misaki (as Saotome Miki) was done so much better in that show. She actually had a character and I could enjoy seeing her on-screen. I can't do that for Escape.

one main reason why this series was so bad? Kobayashi Yasuko. I seriously didn't like Shinkenger and when it was announced that this woman was going to be the head writer for Gobusters, I was worried.

What about Gingaman? Or, almost all of Ryuki?

It does? Where? What did it do that other Sentais didn't?

"Ryuuji turned into a psycho when he overheated"
"The Go-busters had to kill their parents!"
"Hiromu contemplated suicide!"

So dark and edgy, man! I feel for Bandai wanting to hide the kids from this tragic R-rated nightmare~

Reading this thread makes me feel really bad about seeing Go-Busters among my favorite shows… :c

Don't let this thread bother you. You should like what you like. If Go-Busters made you feel happy and gave you a great time, then that's good. Who but yourself can say otherwise?

I personally really love Gaoranger and think it's a really fun show. But a lot of others don't think so.

At the beginning of the show, especially, they were really laying it on thick - especially the idea that Kuroki was prepared to toss the Busters under the, er, bus at any second and the tension between him and Ryuji. I'm glad that was dropped, I much prefer the dynamic we ultimately got between the team and Kuroki/support.

You like what you like. There are a lot of good things about Go-Busters too (well, I think there are) and it still has fans ...

One thing that I personally think stunted whatever good thing Go-Buster had going for itself was the actors themselves. After having some great young actors from both KR, Sentai and even Akibaranger in recent years, Suzuki Katsuhiro and co. were just so...uninspired. Especially compared to actors such as Wada Masato and Miura Ryosuke in recent years, seeing the cast Go-Buster just fumble everything that they were given just ruined anything good Go-Busters had going for itself.

Matsumoto Hiroya was probably the best of the cast, vastly improving from his time on Magiranger, but Komiya, Suzuki and Baba weren't the best of actors and it really hurt the show I think. Especially during the first time Messiah died.

I do think Go-Busters did some cool things, but the cast wasn't a strong point at all in this season.

It's all a bunch of opinions, really. I personally found it superb, in terms of action, plot, characters (all of them), setting, premise, and character development, and even with the retool messing a bit with my perfect show, I lived. It's my favorite Sentai now, up there with Magiranger and Jetman, and I'll never get the hate or, probably, agree with or even understand the complaints. To me, it was just that good.

But what can you do? People didn't like it and they have their reasons. A lot of people didn't as it turned out (though I'm of the opinion it did "badly" more because there were no toys or gimmicks to sell) and now we have Kyoryuger, which is amazing so far, so hey, that's also great.

I love everything about Go-Busters, but there's something that bugged me: Tategami Rai-Oh.

Hiromu tried so hard to get acknowledge from that Buddyzord, but in the end most of the time, the pilots are Ryuji, Jin, or even Marvelous in the crossover movie. I know Nick is the one and only Hiromu's Buddyroid, but...

At least it voiced by Ichiro Mizuki.

Yeah, Matsumoto was by far my least favorite Magiranger (his dramatic scenes and crying were laughable), but in Go-Busters, he easily outshined everyone else. Sure he was a few years more experienced, but...that still says a lot about this cast.

True that. Faiz gets **** all the time and that will never stop me from loving it. Every show gets hate, just deal with it.
