What exactly is wrong with TV-Nihon subs?

There's some good drama subs sure but the majority is complete ****. The only real progress we made is that watermarked hardsubs are becoming scarce.

I don't know much about k-drama but as far as I know that's usually just ripped from the tv-broadcast so yeah, those are usually fine I bet.

I haven't kept up to the dorama scene recently. But it used to be that way. At least you can expect a healthy amount of criticism for sub groups that put out subpar shows.

It never used to be that way. Any criticism is still seen as unneeded, mean and wrong. D-addicts is a hugbox for people who barely even know english let alone japanese to post their shitty subs. (Like I said though, there are of course exceptions)

Yeah, I saw that, and wow... As much as I would love to learn Japanese and become lingual in it, it hurts my tongue just reading that entire subtitled sentence out loud. :shakefist Maybe if it were just one or two smaller Japanese words, I wouldn't feel as stupid, but I can't half & half it like that. Either stick to one language or forget it.
