What Does Henshin Justice Mean To You?

Fans of any given franchise think their favorite franchise should be singled out. You have the sentai guys that would want sentai only, UM wanting UM only, and so on.

What does HJU mean to me...?
It's a chance to learn. Like many here, I grew up watching MMPR (Heck, I grew up watching Captain Power*, which would be my yardstick when looking for North American Toku ideas). And, as I mentioned in my intro post (I think), I stumbled into the infamous 'Final Form Ride: Hibiki' scene on ****youtube, which led to me grabbing some subs from TV-N and Overtime. But I still don't have that breadth of knowledge of the whole of the tokusatsu genre. Which I can find here.
PLus, it's a chance for me to go off on a rant or five (if I ever work up the courage) without everyone else in the room wanting to fit me for a straitjacket.
Not coherent, but the best I can manage right now.

Dig your description of Super Hero Taisen and yeah... I'll never forget that commercial. I had the biggest eye-gasm as a kid when I saw that. :thumbs:

To me, HJU is like a family. I signed up here about 2-3 years ago. I have never regretted it since.
To tell you the truth, the only time I signed up for it was for the Henshin Hotties thread...But I later went on to the other parts of the forum. I think the second part of the forum I looked at was the RPG section, I remember it clear because I remember being mistaken for someone else and getting banned for it...at least that how I remembered.
As time went on, I soon taken part of the other discussions here on the forum. Most of them are in the ORB section. I love knowing about what's to come next in Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. Even in other shows like GARO. In fact, it's due to this forum I now know about other shows that I am interested, like as mentioned GARO, and now Doctor Who.
So, in a nutshell, HJU made me the nerd I am today...And I am proud of it. :thumbs:

Though I've had a couple of absences, HJU is important to me. I was idly reading news about Power Rangers Samurai when it was first announced and found my way here by accident. After stumbling upon the forums, I read through many of the threads about all of these different toku series. I had never heard of anything beyond Power Rangers. I knew that the source footage was from Japan, but that was about the extent of my knowledge. After browsing the threads and then hopping over to the media matrix, I got KR Black on a whim. I'd read where a couple of people thought it was the best KR series so it seemed logical to give it a try. My mind was blown. Every single time I watch a KR Black episode I get this warm, fuzzy feeling that I cannot get any other way. Upon watching that first episode, I knew I had discovered something very special, both the genre as a whole and the toku community here. And I sincerely doubt I would have discovered it if I hadn't happened upon HJU.
Since then, fellow members have helped me in many ways. I've received countless recommendations for series, chatted with folks about what we like/dislike about the genre, and made a few friends along the way. Other members have sold me toku dvds for far, far less than I'd have to pay on Ebay simply because we were both members of HJU and both share a love of toku. I've physically mailed my external HD to another member here who filled it up with different series because I don't have access to a broadband connection. How many forums have people actually willing to do that for someone they don't even really know?
Anyway, Keith, thanks for making this place. It introduced me to an entirely new genre and gave me access to almost more information than a person can take in. More importantly it enabled me to be a part of a community - a community full of pretty damn cool people. :thumbs:
