Was TRANSFORMERS BEAST MACHINES that bad.....?

what i liked
- the fugitive on the run style of being hunted and stuff was pretty kool
- more adult focus storyline with some minor cyberpunk
- the dark tone of the series was a nice change since i got tired of earth...
- i actually liked some of the robot designs that gives them a more sci-fi feel...

what i didn't like
- morphing instead of transforming is unkool
- maximal get's their ass kicked more often than ass-kicking the bad guys....
- finding animal fossils on Cybertron kind of makes Primus feel un-badass...

these are what i can think of at the moment....

It was different.. and it continued Beast Wars' story... the technoganic forms and the fluid animation were alright to me.... but it still wasn't the same....

I really liked it myself. I can't give the reasons why and I can't remember a whole lot about it...but keep in mind that I watched it when I was much younger. All I really remember was liking it alot. It could have been crap but still entertaining enough to keep me tuned in...I am VERY easily amused.

As far as I know, fans were pissed that the writers made something original, and completely turned it around. As in, Cybertron wasn't build on technology, but was originally an natural plantation or something like that. Those fans even threaten to harm the writers; yeah, they were THAT pissed.

Personally, I honestly like the show. Not as good as Beast Wars, but still entertaining. Plus, the music was really cool and the vehicon were cool as well.

I think the reason "Beast Machines" was poorly received was because it made such drastic changes and tried to do something very different.

Some parts of it were OK; the graphics were awesome & most of the fights were great. Other bits, like the dramatic change of Rattrap's character and the introduction of Botanica the transforming plant, were not exactly well-written.

Plus the toys were pretty poor, that could have something to do with the overall opinion of hte series.

And its true- some fans were so upset with the series that they sent death threats to the head writer, Bob Skir. He canceled his scheduled appearance at a Transformers convention and to this day will not appear at one.
