Was TRANSFORMERS BEAST MACHINES that bad.....?

After reading all these posts, I've come to the conclusion that TF fans look waaaay too deep into the show. Lol.

Says the guy calling himself, "Wing Knight."

I'm not sure how my username is relevant...I just think people make Transformers out to be something that it's not. It's not some super drama with deep intertwining plots like some people make it out to be. It's pretty cut and dry for the most part.

It's similar to how some (not all) Saban-era PR supporters act as if seasons like TF and IS are emmy award winning material.....heh, hardly.

I would HIGHLY disagree.

Have you seen Beast Wars and Dinobot's story?

There isn't much action cartoons out there that doesn't have some kind of involved plot. By Transformers Armada's ending there was plenty of high drama and mythology to go around.

I don't know about Emmy, but it does deserve geek recognition for some of the intricate plots that do get pulled off very well.

Kamen Rider is more cut-and-dry than TF.

Dinobot is practically shakesperian, and Megatron is quoting psudo-biblical litriture in BW's finale.

Get an education on this franchise.

I don't recall saying it wasn't.

And "get an education on this franchise"....? Are we twelve? I have watched enough (with the exception of Armada) to know what it is...a glorified toy commercial, much like PR, and KRDK, and a bunch of other crap that we are all into. A few moments of genius in terms of writing and/or dialogue don't account for the entire show and series. I enjoy it for what it is, but like I stated, it seems to be a common thing where TF fans hype this up to be something that it's not.

Hmmm..... to me, talk like that sounds like shielding yourself from some shame or embarrassment that "cool people" might find out you're in to something geeky.

Yeah, it's most definitely a toy commercial, but in most of these and the ones that have the biggest fanbase.... there is a story there. And whether it's about talking ponies, transforming bots, or heroes from another dimension.

Just cuz it doesn't have the label of being primetime television doesn't discredit credit where it's deserved, like Dinobot's episode or some series finales I've seen.

That and all this geek stuff is is just "The New Mythologies." Superman stories or some Power Ranger sagas are no more outlandish or childish than ancient Greek or Norse legend which is now "classic", just because of its label.

I think you're not giving some of these shows enough credit. And it's also up to the individual as well. All stories are imagination gateways. And if you wanna just imagine what it would be like to track a Decepticon named Starscream to the moon with new upgrades, I don't see that being any less valid than being a Democrat fighting for the rights of America in the Right Wing.

It's all imagination. Looks as deep as you like, I say.

Nah, I'm totally "out" with my geekiness. It's very evident by my myspace page that I'm proud of the stuff I'm into. Friends, family, even a few co-workers who know me well enough are well aware of my interest in PR, Sentai, Kamen Rider, etc. :) Don't play me like that, Keith! ;)
