USA Metal Hero: Captain Power!

The interaction was fake in the end. I remember wondering how advanced technology had become if I could blast dudes on the television and effect the TV Show.

What would happen was you'd shoot at the screen with your toy and rack up points.

It was pretty sweet if you just added a little imagination to it.

I distinctly remember for one episode, Captain Power was in a fight so serious that I litterally ran to my room, got my toy, and ran back to start shooting 'bots along with him. And in the end, we both came out alive.

I remember finding an online interview with Straczynski a few years ago. According to him the writing team had a four year plan for the show. Captain Power was going to be AWOL at the start second season trying to hunt down they guy who sold them out and caused Pilot's death. They were going to find Eden and find out what happened to Power's mothers. Dread was going to be more of a robot this time around too. He even revealed in season three Dread and POwers was goingt o have to be in a reluctant alliance beace Dread found out Overmind's true plan when humanity got digitized, he was going to hit delete and erase them all.

This was defiantly a different show for it's time. Unfortunately cost were through the roof, and stores apparently stopped selling the toys which further lead to the the show's demise.

This Lord Dredd intruiges me.

And that computer voice
"Energy substation Zeta has been violated" Geh, thats creepy.

And what I find funny is you don't hear anything about soccer moms wanting to make him more kid friendly...

I remember watching reruns of Captain Power during the mid-90's, and thought it looked great. I thought the suit design was pretty slick and badass. Also, the CGI was pretty neat too and Lord Dredd look incredibly evil-looking. But, now that I look back on it; it does sorta resemble a Metal Heroes show.
