Uncover Sexy Abs Without Crunches!

Takumi already nailed it, but it bears repeating (since everytime "bathing suit season" comes around, people seem to completely void their brains of anything they've learned about health and physiology in the past year): ab exercises alone will not get you anywhere. The reason most people don't have visible abs is because the abdomen is basically set to hold a layer of fat to protect the vital organs in the torso. To get that "six pack" that everybody seems to think is going to validate their lives in some way, the only sure-fire way is to clean up your diet, period. And not just to get abs, but because it's the healthy thing to do. It also doesn't matter how many crunches you're doing if you're gut-chunky, because there's no such thing as spot reduction (losing fat in a specific area with repeated exercise); the body loses fat in a particular order, and most of the time, lower abdomen fat is the last to go. Also, the abs are one of the least-improvable muscle groups in the entire body, with an average improvement possibility of about 15% or less. Oops! I just bankrupted 15 Minute Abs.

I think someday I'll write an article called "Time-Tested Method For Hawtt Six Pack Abs!" and the column will consist only of the word "broccoli."

*sigh* I really need to improve my diet. :S And exercise more. Turns out I've gained two pounds...so I'm back to wear I started again. Must give up pop completely instead of allowing one a day for now cause it's just not doing the trick.

Wait! My histology teacher taught me and my whole class that your adipose tissues all are defenders againsts shock and cold, that means those who are stout (LIKE ME) are more surviving in cold weathers than those who are slim. (duh... excuse me,)

That's true to an extent, but humans don't pack on fat in the winter time like most outdoor mammals because we've adapted to having indoor heating and heavy clothing. It does certainly seem easier to get lean in the summer, and you may be better equipped to survive in the cold with your, uh... stoutness, but I don't think anyone can justify being fat by citing cold weather. :P

Indeed but you can use it if you are in an airconditioned room. Speaking of which. I am now taking gyms. Thank goodness.
