ULTRAMAN SAGA - Rumors and Pictures

Not trying to be negative but somehow I have this feeling that after I see the movie next Monday, i'm going to come out of the cinemas feeling that last year's megamax film was even better than this.

Does anyone have the box office for this week's showing of Saga, as well the songs from the CD? And, can we get a breakdown of the demographics of the audiences - are we seeing a lot of new folks (ie., AKB48 & DAIGO fans), or not?

It sucks that Akimoto Yasushi himself picked these members, because I feel like he could have put one more bigger member in addition to DiVa in order to help give more oonf to Saga. Of course, there is no one else capable of doing stunts in AKB beyond Akimoto Sayaka herself, but he definitely didn't go all in to help Tsuburaya.

Especially with the recent revelation that Aki-P does hold certain influence in who gets what movie role, I feel like he withheld some good cards that could have really helped Saga....

For some reasons, I'm starting to think that Saga's head has a similar head design as the Neko monster from Max.

Please give us your opinions on what you see in the movie when you go. What they did right, as well as what they did wrong?

And, what's a "megamax" film?

Well, at least it's still in the top ten; but I'm worried that it traded places with another film that had been in the movies a bit longer. That's why I was interested in the demographics; whether or not a lot of new fans were coming in from AKB48's and DAIGO's audiences, or whether they were coming in to see the already-established actors and realities? Remember, Jim Ballard had quite a few concerns about the movie, and I'd like to know how many actual viewers share them.

I rather suspect that Tsuburaya will have to play the long game here, and depend upon the Blu-Ray and toy sales to salvage this one. On top of that, it may be time to adjust the marketing strategy.

Use the movies to focus on the characters of the most popular Ultra hosts, like Takeshi Tsuruno, and Taiyo Suguira; just as Super 8 UltraBrothers focused on Hiroshi Nagano's Daigo. Use that to build up the audience again, rather than pulling another "bait and switch," then use a TV series to develop a new Ultra and alternative world. I just wish that the EDF World and the GUTS worlds were connected ...
