Ultraman Leo - Talkback

Having Dan as Commander is awesome. But how the hell was Ultraseven able to return to the form of Damn when in the Seven finale he couldn't anymore?.
I don't think there's a reason or explanation behind it. Probably its been quite some time, thus he had his powers back to normal. Oh, besides, Ultraseven was already in his Dan form in Ultraman Taro (the reunion in the Temperar episodes).

The relationship between Dan and Leo is fucked up. I understand Seven is training him which is cool but man there are times so far where he makes Leo his bitch.
Dan is very strict when it comes to teaching Gen. He really wants to ensure that his 'student' picks up the skills that he needed to kill the monster-of-the-week. Usually, the plot of each episodes goes something like: monster arrived, Leo arrived and lost, Dan gave specific trainings to defeat a particular monster and finally the second round of fight where Leo made use of what he had just learnt to defeat the monster. Some of the trainings that Dan gave was just plain sadistic. You wouldn't want a teacher like Ultraseven.

Now I'm really starting to like Gen. I think he is the most emotional and human-like of all the Ultras. The sad dramatic face he does when something seriously goes wrong is definatley one of a kind.

Damn, Dan can be sadistic.

Also, I think I may have an edited version or something. Whenever Leo tapes or decapatates a Kaijuu it won't show the pericing of the horns or anything but it'll show right after while the Kaijuu is headless. Or was the original series like this?.

I hate watching this in Chinese Dub.... :shakefist

Can I expect any special arcs coming up?.

Well, there's a bunch of episodes that draw upon famous Japanese Folklore from #26~32. #26 is a pretty significant one, and #29~32 have some nice guest appearances (#29 especially for the Seven fans out there.)

There's a great little two-parter at #38~39, and then #40~51 sort of have an overall arch to them. Get ready for #40- it breaks the Ultra status quo!

What's the story with Astra? is this Leo's brother from their destroyed homne planet?. Was the flashback scene Gen was having from when they planet was destroyed and he thought Astra was dead or something?.

Does Astra appear again and have a Human Form?.

Astra is Leo's younger brother. Leo was feeling sad all the while because he kept thinking of his failure in saving his brother from their exploding home planet. Astra was captured by Magma-seijin (purple bad guy in the first episode, and also responsible in destroying L77, Leo's homeplanet) and had this chain-thingy cuffed to his leg. The chain was to remind the people that Astra was once a captive, being tortured and all, and nothing could remove that thing from him -- not even Ultraman King with his Ultra Mallet weapon.

Astra appeared in episodes 22, 33, 36, 38~39 (fake Astra) and 46. And no, Astra doesn't have a human form.

So Anne returned.... Basri, what the hell is the story behind that kid, Anne, and Dan?. I somehow got the feeling that kid is Dan's. But I could be way off.

I noticed this series doesn't focus too much on the other team members besides Gen and Dan. I read that team members get replaced after being eating or something, when can I expect that?. I'm already at ep 31.

Also Ultraman King looks really weird. What is the difference between him and Father of Ultra anyway?.

and anyone have an ep title list?.

I don't have my copies with me right now (as I'm stuck in camp every weekdays) and its been a long time since I watch the episodes. Now I got a question, too. Are they trying to imply that the kid belongs to Dan? Know what the scary thing is? From what I remembered, monster-of-the-week somehow has this eye design which was shaped kinda like Ultraseven's eyes! (maybe its just me). Am I refering to the right episode in the first place?

Spoiler:
[HIDE]They got "eaten" in episode 40. And not a single person was being replaced.[/HIDE]

Fans can always compare them using status and ranks, something like Father is the overall command for their unit and King being a legend etc, so I don't want to go into detail. All I know is "King" is definitely higher ranked than a "Father."
