Ultraman (1966) - Talkback

Chaiyo was from Thailand, btw, not Malaysia. And it ought to bother you because they were some crooked scum and are in large part responsible for why we don't have quality releases of the older stuff over here, as well as shows like Max and Mebius. Lack of interest is partially to blame as well but even if there were interest, TPC couldn't have done anything because of Chaiyo.

Thank God that's over with but it's a cryin' shame that the shabby Millcreek set is still so widespread. We'll probably never get a REALLY good release of Ultraman in the states because of that.

Most people interested in Ultraman don't know it's a bootleg and wouldn't re-buy an official, more expensive (but higher quality) dvd set.

That Mill Creek set is fucking terrible, and I'd feel worse about owning it if I had spent more than 5 dollars on it. It'd really be nice if it were somehow taken off the market, or something. Although I don't think that'd help. :/

The one thing that really bums me out about that is that the Thai/Chinese Ultraman series was actually finished, it's a shame to just let it sit on the shelves, would be great if some agreement could be made to release it.

Project Ultraman... Wasn't that just a movie?

I have a hard time believing it ever happened given how much of a liar Sompote was. Besides, it really wasn't anything more than a huge Evangelion ripoff if the trailer was accurate to the finished product.
